I have not been able to find a decent rate for a 6 day rental in March.
I have tried all the Mousesavers codes....

Is it to early to get a good rate?
I can't believe they are booking alot at National with a $344 rate for a Intermediate car.....

Talk about it...The best thing out right now is EWEB rate code, which will give you $43 per day for intermediate if im not mistaken. Im looking at a 4 day rental in a premium car for $160! Thats alot compared to the $77 I payed last year....Although, we are still a ways from march....

Hi

I got a rate with Dollar for 322 including tax which wa the best I could do. I didn't use a code just regular rate and then the popup discount

It seems that most of the coupons only go to the end of the year, or at least not until March. I wasn't too happy with the rates I was coming up with either...but was wondering if I should go ahead and book it to secure something. Didn't know if the rates would go up as 'Spring Break' times got closer. I was originally looking for a week rental, but changed to an 8 day to get the cheapo Southwest tickets. That actually brought the price down for me at budget...an intermediate for 236 after all the crazy fees.

Rates seem to be very high. In Sept. I made a Thrifty reservation for 10 days in March for full-size at $290 total which seemed very high to me. Well, it's now even higher at $381! Hotwire has $332, so I plan to keep checking the companies directly and if I don't find anything lower, I'll try Hotwire or Priceline closer to the time of my trip. I think I could probably get a lower rate on Priceline than Hotwire, but I'd use Hotwire as an indicator or likely prices. I'm already having to take a shuttle with Thrifty, so I figure all I'd lose with Hotwire/Priceline would be my ability to skip a possible line with my Thrifty membership.

I know what you mean - rates seem exceptionally high for March. We booked National for our March 2005 trip for about $250 for two weeks. I went online about two months ago and looked at all the car companies for our upcoming March 2007 trip trying to find a good rate (checked MouseSavers for codes, etc.).

The best I was able to come up with was a $126/wk rate for a full-sized car with Thrifty, which I thought was pretty good. I've since checked all the other companies regularly and it's over $180/wk from what I'm seeing right now. I thought prices might fall a bit as it got closer, but they just seem to be going up and up. I'm holding on to my Thrifty reservation!

Good luck with your search,
MouseGirl
