Any good quick places for lunch at the Boardwalk?

On our trip in December, we will be moving to the Boardwalk Inn after our stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I was just wondering if there was any place to grab a relatively quick and inexpensive lunch there. We will be having big dinners on the nights we stay at the Boardwalk (Marrakesh, Spoodles, Flying Fish, etc.) so we will probably just want something small and quick for lunch on those days. There isn't any counter service there, is there? Any suggestions?

You can grab a quick bite at Hurricane Hannah's at the Beach Club or an inexpensive (but still sit down) lunch at ESPN Club. We love to have at least one meal at ESPN each trip. It's fun, relative quick and not too expensive. Also I believe Tubbi's at the Dolphin has counter service too. Check out Deb's site at www.wdwig.com to get an idea of what's available on the Boardwalk (and the menus for those restaurants) that might suit you and your family. Have a great trip!

Here's a second vote for ESPN. We like it better for lunch because it is not crowded at all. The food is great, not too expensive and it feels like we are out of the parks and in a different enviroment for awhile.:)

We like the hot dog stand just across from Spoodles. They have jumbo and regular dogs and you can add chilli and cheese for an extra cost or they have a fixin's area with kraut and onions etc. They also have GREAT corn dogs. Here's the link to the menu:

BoardWalk Bakery also has lunch items:

Also a quick and DELICIOUS must-do for lunch is at Beaches and Cream at the Yacht and Beach Club (a walk away):

Hope that helps!

Thanks everybody! We will probably try ESPN, and definately Beaches and Cream. I was wondering if the hotdog stands and places like that were open during the day, or only in the eveing.

I don't remember the hot dog stand being open during the day. We always enjoy Beaches and Cream and ESPN. We also like to grap snacks at the Boardwalk Bakery. They have a few sandwich type things and the muffins are good. We also like to go down there early in the morning for coffee and a muffin and enjoy the quiet time on the boardwalk.

We had a hot dog from the hot dog stand during the day on our last trip. They also sold French Fries. Also, not sure if this is open during the day, but isn't there a pizza window for slices of pizza on the Boardwalk? And you could also order snack and light foods at the pool bar.

There is a pizza place (it is part of Spoodles) that serves slices... You can sit right there on the BW as well. We love to eat lunch in the ESPN club... Great Sandwiches:D

Can you get PS for ESPN? Is it usually needed. The EsPN near here is always very crowded, especially durung football season, and they don't take reservations

They have decent hot dogs at the pool bar at Luna Park - we always eat these at least once every trip. There are also light sandwiches and chips available. As mentioned before, ESPN is another good lunch option but watch what you order because their portions are huge!

ESPN was a pleasant surprise for us too. On one trip DD was having a horrible night. We were staying at the Swan and hadn't eaten dinner. While dh stayed with dd I ran over to ESPN, ordered some wraps to go, had a quick beer (needed it that night!!) and was back in our room eating dinner within a half hour. Very reasonable too.

S/D also have some nice poolside cafe/grilles too. They're both good and you can sit outside by the pool if it's a nice day and relax a bit.

The hot dog stand at the BW is open during the day (starting around 11 am I recollect). It was open when we were at WDW early in January of this year, so I think this must be year-around hours. In addition to the regular hot dog, the jumbo hot dog is one of the largest I've seen (not just a long skinny foot long, this one has some real heft to it). The stand also has a sausage which appears to be bratwurst. It was also good. There is a basket price including hot dog or sausage, fries, and soft drink for around $7.50 to $8. I think this gives you a 50 cents discount. The fries are cooked to order and are excellent.
