any GOOD experiences with POR?

Never think you've made a mistake on resorts based on a few bad reviews you read on the DIS! You will LOVE POR!

As all have said - it's lush, plenty to do without leaving the resort - you share all facilities with POFQ if you desire, wildlife, great pools, feels very private and uncrowded, a superior foodcourt and great CM's.

BUSES... are another issue and my only complaint about POR. It would be tough to give up ME, but I would rent a car before I will tangle with the buses again. But that's just us!

We loved POR - no complaints at all! Bus service was fine, although we did use our rental car part of the time. The food court was good - we especially like the pasta bar and the yogurt and granola parfait bar for breakfast.

This is the view from outside our room in AB building 14.....

I have a appreciated all the great things about this resort. Being a family of five there's not a lot of options in the value/moderate range but it sounds like this resort is the best for our family. Thanks for all your input!

:grouphug: thank you thank you!

i guess we all need to try and make our own opinions and i'm going to do just that!

This is a great resort! You will love it. Remember, though - if there are any problems or concerns during your stay, make management aware of it while you are still there. They will take care of it. So many people wait until they return home and then decide to write a letter of complaint. That is a little late and very unfair, IMO - they should give the resort a chance to make it right.

I have been staying on Disney property for the past 20 years - through many trips! Any problems we encountered were always dealt with and only twice in 20 years did I have to "climb the management ladder" to get resolution. I think that is an awesome customer service record.

Enjoy your trip!

;)

Another :thumbsup2 for POR!! DH and I were there for the sixth time in Nov. 07. I am starting to plan trip #7 for Dec 08!! We love POR!! We love the landscaping, the boat to DTD, Bob Jackson at the River Roost, the food court, surrey bikes, walking along the river, and the quiet pools just to name a few things!!

OP- Thanks so much for posting this. We will be staying at POR this April and I have been wondering if I made the right decision.
Thank all of you who have posted, my mind is much more at ease with my decision.

We stayed there late August 2007. It was a last choice for us, but had to stay there because we made late reservations. Well...we fell in love with it. I thought initially it was to spread out and that it would take for ever to get anywhere. We were put at a far building from the main area, but found that we loved walking the paths because it was so peaceful. Liked it so much we are going there again on March 12!!!
I can't end this with out saying...I LOVE THE PASTA STATION in the food court!

We just got back this past Saturday Feb 2nd. We stayed in the alligator bayou sections. Building 14 absolutely gorgious. We had a nice view of the river and ducks. Boartwrights has a very good breakfast menu. On the dinner menu I did not care for the buttermilk fried chicken but the prime rib was excellant. For breakfast you must try the bananastuffed french toast. My husband had it every morning for breakfast. The POR was beautiful and relaxing. Do not forget the nice boat ride to downtown.
