any GOOD experiences with POR?

after hearing some of the reports, i'm thinking i made a bad choice in resort for our trip

We stayed there in August. The room was clean, the buses were great, food court was good and the concierge staff was extremely helpful. I would have no problems recommending POR!

We have stayed at POR the last two years and love it. The grounds are beautiful and the food is good. The bus situation could be beter and I'm pretty sure they know this. The rooms were in my opinion just as nice as the wilderness lodge which is where we stayed in 2005. As far as the moderates go we have nothing else to compare it to until we get there in june thats when were trying out CSR for the first time. I hope we enjoy it just as much as POR.

we had 2 rooms at POR for 9 days at christmas, and it was completly amazing. the food court is the best choice for a counter service meal (ddp) that we saw the entire time. the pools were great, my kids swam every single day and we had the laundry right across from our room. it was quiet and peaceful. we are booked for the beach club for this july, and I am hoping that it will be as good as por. The landscaping is beautiful, and mousekeeping was great! The way they set up the kids stuffed animals every day was something we looked forward to every night as we went home. that was what i loved about going....after my first day, I kept saying how I couldn't wait to get home because we would want to swim, watch some tv, or just relax in the tub. thinking back, i wish i got more pics of the room, but this is what i have for you. hope this helps!!

We stayed there in December and loved it! The grounds are gorgeous, the service was fine, the food court as quite good. Lots of pools to suit your needs. We didn't take the buses so can't comment on that, but everything we experienced was great!

sorry for the mess, this was Christmas morning. Not sure if you can see it, but in the window behind my dd you can see the towel animals all set up facing out of the window, with their animals all around, including her monkey that was left hanging from the blinds (we left him that way all week, it was done on our first day by mousekeeping)

We also stayed at POR in early December and LOVED it! It's a beautiful resort and grounds. I loved the quietness and the walk to the food court every morning. So pretty!! The boat ride to Downtown Disney is also very enjoyable. We had fabulous mousekeeping and a very clean and quiet room. You will love it there!!

DH and I stayed at POR two trips ago. It was fine! The grounds were beautiful and I loved taking the boat to Downtown Disney. It's pretty centrally located too so the bus rides to the parks weren't bad at all.

I think POR and POFQ are both good choices - I'm sure you will like it!

I can't think of anything bad to say about POR! We stayed there in 2006 and 2007 and it is gorgeous. The grounds are breath taking and the wildlife just hangs out amongst it. There were ducks, all sorts of birds, squirrels , small lizards, etc... We feel blessed to be planning our 4th year in a row and thought that we would try CSR just to say that we have tried another moderate but would be just as happy to go back to POR! We have stayed in the mansions and alligator bayou and if you have kids Alligator Bayou is definately the place to be. The rooms are nice and very clean. Enjoy your trip and don't change, you won't regret it!

Currenly planning trip #4 to DW - Coronado Springs here we come!

We stayed in POR in October last year and really loved it. Don't forget to spend an evening in the bar with Pianoman Bob, he's what you might call a hoot Here are a couple of photos I took:

We are a family of 5 that stayed there in August and we LOVED it! I wasn't sure AB would be for me, but pictures do not do it justice! The grounds were beautiful and so peaceful! We will be staying there from now on unless I can convince my DH to upgrade to the Poly our next trip!!

I have stayed at POR many times and their are many reasons that I return.

-I have never had an issue with housekeeping or cleanliness
-I adore the walk back to my room in the morning after getting my tea or coffee. The smell of nature in the air, crisp dewy grass and the ducks and rabbits quiet make me feel like I am in the bayou.
-I think their food court is great
-friendly staff
-I have never had an issue with buses or waiting. I always walk the 3-4 minute walk out to the back stops where no one goes to.
-I love the boat ride to DTD

I think you made a great choice and wouldn't change! Have fun!
