I think if you are referred by an existing subscriber, you get an additional $10 off a month:

If you have a friend or family member, you should ask them for their account number. If not, any current subscriber can give you a referral (they get $10 too).

I hadn't heard the $10 off if you're referred -- their commercial says the current customer who refers gets a $100 bill credit ($10 off per month), but doesn't say anything about the new customer. I'd check that before you count on it. And yes, I'm sure there are plenty of us who would be happy to give you the info you need to refer you, so we'd get the discount!

Both people get the $10 / 10 months....the person that signs up for the DTV service as well as the person that's referred them.

Yep - the link I attached is specifically for the "new subscriber." It says, "you can get an EXTRA $10 bill credit every month for 10 months on top of the great savings you get with our current new customer offer."

Sorry, I wasn't trying to go against any guidelines or ask to be a refer-er, it is why I suggested OP check with her friends and family as the link I attached asks you to post in a subscriber ID. Mods, sorry if that was against the TOS. I edited my post to make sure it was clear.

And I like them much better than dish. I saw a AAA offer (you may ask about it in addition to a $10 off referral). Anyway, my current contract wasn't up yet and they still gave me about the same rate as I saw advertised for a new customer. Dish wouldn't do that for us when we were with them! Plus they didn't even make me extend my contract. Yep, I think I'll keep them.
