Any good car hire deals?

i used the Brit guide rate at alamo...
i just checked it now and it's a few pounds more than it was when i made my reservations a few months ago, but it's still pretty good..
and it comes with 3 additional drivers for free.
i only reserve, i don't pay in advance.....i assume it would be less if i paid in advance....but it's still pretty good...

that is weird that you don't know who it is until you've paid!!
two years ago, i had the most spectacular deal using a discount code at alamo UK - it was a code for car racing enthusiasts if i'm remembering correctly...
i don't remember the code, otherwise i'd try it on the off chance that they were having that deal again and they hadn't changed the code...
but alas i can't remember it....

i used the second one - the brit guide discount - when i made all my car reservations several months ago..

i checked it now and the prices have gone up by about 20 pounds (using the brit guide discount)....

several months ago i booked a one way car from orlando to fort lauderdale
and another one way car from fort lauderdale to orlando..
and a round trip car from detroit airport .... (detroit is a major pain - you have to take a shuttle from the terminal out to where the car rental lots are)...
