Any Fort Wilderness cabin experts out there?

I'm at the very early stages of planning a trip for late September/early October 2003. We are considering a cabin at Fort Wilderness. We need room for me and my daughter (8) and sister-in-law and nephew (5). Main considerations are having separate rooms for kids to sleep in. (They will NEVER get to sleep if they can talk to each other at bedtime!!)

So, any experts out there? I need all the information I can get. Do the cabins sound like a good choice for us or would there be something better?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

You'll get more responses if you post in the Camping forum. We stayed there for seven nights this past April/May...there is a double bed and bunk beds in the bedroom, and a Murphy bed that pulls out from the wall in the living room. We loved the cabins because it was like going back to our own, peaceful, quiet "home" after a long day in the parks! Having a full kitchen helped a lot too!

The only thing I can think of that is that if you want to stay up later than the kids, the only place to go really is out onto the patio. In that way it's really no different than having connecting hotel rooms. There is only one TV & it's in the living room (where the double bed is). If everyone, including the adults, goes to bed at the same time it shouldn't be a problem.

It depends on your situation, really. We like to stay up later than our DS, but since there are only 3 of us, the cabins were great! He went to sleep in the bedroom & we hung out in the living room.

If you don't plan to use the kitchen, connecting rooms at the all stars would be cheaper. Same problem with no adult space, but at least you get 2 tvs and 2 bathrooms.

I agree with the previous poster... connecting rooms might be better in your situation. 2 rooms at one of the All Stars would probably be cheaper than a cabin anyway. Then you'll have 2 bathrooms, 4 double beds, and 2 TVs. (lots more space) :)
