Any former 4-Hers here?

DD is running for reporter for her jr. high 4-H club. She needs some posters for tommorrow. My little artist is usually full of ideas but this weekend she has had a block about this. I'm not any help. Anyone have any quick thoughts?

Well, what kind of 4H club is she in? Cooking, sewing, poultry, etc? We're here to help with all kinds of ideas!

What type of posters does she need to do? What are they for exactly? Are they to promote 4H or promote her journalistic skills?

I was in 4H maybe 25 years ago... (it really can't be that long ago!).

I have no idea what type of posters she needs. I remember that we had to make displays for our county farm fair. We had to pick an important agriculturist! I remember we had a big debate over a famous farmer, and we wound up doing Orville Redenbacher!

Now, if that story didn't show you how much of a hick town I lived in, I don't know what else would!

I was a 4-H member and then a leader for the club my DD was in. When we had elections, members nominated for positions gave a speech at the club meeting and then the members voted. We didn't have a lot of campaigning and this gave them more public speaking skills.

Thanks, She needs posters to (hopefully) get her elected to office as the reporter for her jr high 4-h club so I would say it is to promote her. DD can draw anything, she just has a creativity block.

I guess my 4H club was so small everyone took turns being the officer..

We never really bothered with elections, it was more like OK Susie last year you were president, how about Bob gets a turn this time. Bob, you were VP now, let Susie be VP.. that type of thing.

However, my sister always had a big powertrip hangup when it was her turn to be 4H president... she never wanted to give it up.

what is her first name? You could get something that rhymes with it and make a neat little slogan.

Probably too late now......maybe cut pictures of groups of people and photography equipment out of magazines and paste around a poster that lists her abilities and eagerness to "cover the 4H news". Don't forget that Garfield has been a sponsor of 4H in the past....
