Hi
any foreigners worried about what might go on with russia and Ukraine ? Got to say haven’t tought of that when booked last week for May and bought of all categories VGT
i mean it looks like a big deal what’s going on
for myself ( Canada ) the toughts crosses my mind what if I am stuck in USA without being able to come back I mean with all we’ve all had to worry since the last two weeks didn’t need that worry on top of that
am I alone ?

I'm in Ireland and while what's going on Ukraine is disturbing, and has all sorts of implications, I am not at worried that what's happening there will effect my day to day life in Ireland or the other countries in Europe. And I defiantly don't have any worry's about travel to USA or even travel to other countries in Europe. I have a trip to California booked for June and Norwegian Fjords cruise booked for September and will have at least one if not two trips to England to see family this year.

Maybe I have a different outlook as I was a tourist in New York in September 2001 and was outside St Patricks Cathedral, near 5th Avenue Manhattan when the planes hit and I was stranded in New York for 5 days and was on the first repatriation flight from JFK airport back to Ireland.

I'd be more concerned about testing positive for Covid and not being able to go home. I'm not concerned about the conflict affecting North American travel at all. I, personally, won't be booking any Baltic cruises with port stops in St. Petersburg any time soon.

Canadians could always come home from where ever they were in the world. Right from the start of Covid. Now if airflights are shut down for whatever reason and you are within driving distance you can always drive. Canadians with proper documentation will not be turned away at the border.

But that ( arsoude of covid positive) worried
But that situation Russia Ukraine is adding to it though
I can't imagine that the war between Russia and Ukraine will prevent you from getting back to Canada. How could it?

i know
My mind is playing games with me
On top of covid and the might ( even if we already had it at holidays ) be positive at port and how we would have to find a plan B
Now that situation of possible war

oh but I am worried
Even though we all got the covid around New Years I know possibly one can get it twice
And don’t get me wrong I also worry on what would be our next plan ( find a room to isolate since one can’t fly in Canada for 11 days

not easy not to worry about all sorts of things
things we didn’t just 2 years ago ( pre covid

I'm also not worried about the conflict between Russia & Ukraine affecting travel outside of the area per se. Financially it may be felt, depending on how sanctions affect markets, but that's different. Unless we are attacked on our own soils you would have no problems getting home from here.

Unfortunately, as we have seen, sporadically up to this point, cyerattacks can be very disruptive to our daily lives. This is one way I can see travel and daily life disrupted thousands of miles away from this conflict. This invasion and any sanctions and the response to them certainly could effect all of us.
