I am contemplating getting a Fitbit Zip at Meijers today or tomorrow as they have them for $59.99 and then you get a $20 off your next purchase. This is a great deal from what I have read but I originally wanted the Flex. Heck I'll get the Fitbit and then turn around and get some groceries.

Anyone have either of these and have insight? I have read that the Flex is less bang for your buck in the form of a bracelet for the most part.

I want the most bang for the buck.

I am interested in everyone''s opinion on this too. We bought FitBit Ones and FitBit Zips for our sons. Returned the FitBit Ones to wait for the Flex. Our sons lost their Zips within weeks of using it.
IMO, the One is not worth double the price for the sleep function. You set it when you go to bed and wake up. How can you set it when you go to sleep if you just drift off to sleep or lay there awhile? And you have to attach it to pajamas ;)
The Zip is 1/2 the price but very easy to lose while you run or work out
So we were going to get the Flex but undecided.
Great deal at Meijers though! Was that in-store or online?

It is a two day sale in store for Friday May 10 & Satruday May 11 only though which is why I want to go either today / tomorrow.

I read that the flex doesn't count stairs either which is kinda turning me away from that as well. I don't think I would be able to really sleep with the flex on as I am very particular when I go to bed. I don't wear my rings either as my fingers used to swell.

Added perk is if you have a Meijers Credit card and you use that I think it's an additional 15% OFF. I don't have one but would rather take the $20 even if I did.

The Flex also is backordered for 6-8 weeks. I looked at the Flex today -- I have the Fitbit One and I love it.

I will check out the Meijers deal. Where as you said you could not sleep with the flex on, I could not sleep in pajamas or something strapped to my upper ar (FitBit One). I think I could deal with a bracelet type (Flex).
On my wish list is an armband that does all the fit bit does and does heart rate, BP and still monitors movement. Not counting stairs is a deal breaker for me. I am up and down them several times a day.
maybe i am wanting too much?

I bought a Flex earlier this week at Best Buy. So far I love it! It just sits on my wrist like a watch. I wear it to bed and in the shower. I like that I don't have to worry about losing it. I LOVE the sleep function. You just tap it when you go to bed and again when you wake up. It measures how long it took me to fall asleep, each time I woke up and for how long, and how long I was in bed over all. I was waking up exhausted every day and this explains why.

I don't find the not counting stairs to be an issue but I don't really climb many stairs anyway.

Do you use the sleep function?

No, but I'd like to. It seems much easier/practical to do this with the Flex than with my Fitbit One. I don't like having to wear the band to sleep -- I have a hard enough time sleeping, I don't need the band bothering me, too! ;) That's why I was looking at the Flex. I guess I need to decide whether or not I really need to count stairs.

That is the review I wanted to hear! YES! Thank you.

I have a Fitbit One - I have had it since the beginning of Feb & it has literally changed my life!

I ran my very first 5k 2 weeks ago. I would never in a million years imagine that I would enter a race! I was so much fun & now I am hooked!

Oh - and when you start reading about the Disney races :woohoo:

And this is coming from someone that DID NOT EXERCISE. AT. ALL. in Jan! I got my Fitbit & things changed :cool1:

Some weeks I do a lot, some I don't, but I do way more than I ever imagined I would. :dance3:

If anyone does get one, make sure to join the DIS Friends "group" on the Fitbit website. There is a link in a thread on the community board somewhere.

If you can't find it, let me know and I will find it. :yay:

Love MY ONE!!!! I got mine on March 10th. I am obsessed with getting in my steps!! Just yesterday I got in over 17000. When we were at Disney for a week over Easter I hit 26000 on one of those days!!! Luvvvvvv MY ONE!! :lovestruc

In the shower? Could I wear it in the pool? I do water walking classes 2 days a week and have been trying to find something that is waterproof. I know the fitbit one is not since I have washed it in the washer in the past!

I have the Ultra which is the model that was available before the One.

I really like it. I considered the Flex because I like the thought of the waterproof wristband but I'm hesitant to give up stair counting. I often do a weekly challenge with myself to increase my stair climbing by one each day. I know I could just manually count them but that isn't as much fun.

I really don't have any interest in tracking my sleep.

I use MyFitnessPal.com to track food and the Fitbit integrates with it really well.

I love MFP too. I just started using it this week. :)

Well hubby picked me up a Fitbit one and so far I am impressed but I really need to pick up moving more lol. I use my fitness pal.com as well for tracking calories as well. I can't wait to see how much walking we do in July at Disneyland and December Disneyworld. I also can't wait to see what a full week day as well as weekends Are down days for the most part.

It can be submerged in water up to 10 meters.
