Any fans of the wine packages?

Are the wine packages worth it or not? And should you go for the premium?

If you don't drink all the wine, do you take it home?

I've read in some of the threads that people who don't drink a full bottle of wine have their servers simply bring the bottle to the next night. Will all servers do this or is it a courtesy for a few?

We did the "cheaper" of the 2 wine packages and enjoyed it immensely. They just transfer unfinished bottles to your next dinner so you won't lose any of it. Don't know about taking it off w you though?? My husband and I actually brought 4 bottles of our own to enjoy before dinners while we were getting ready, etc. Then the wine package was shared between our party--my mom, dad, and 2 sisters along w/ us. They say you can bring your own wine to dinner but disney can then charge you a corkage fee. And I figured the math out on the wine we brought and along with what we paid for the wine and then the corkage fee- we would have ended up paying almost the same as the package--so like I said, we opted to enjoy ours in the room and split a package w/ the family at dinner. I'd definitely do it again because it was very enjoyable!!! Good luck!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We've purchased both wine packages and enjoyed them both. Your server will bring any unfinished bottle(s) to the next night in your dining rotation. As for taking them home, we brought back two bottles. HTH

Thanks! We planned on bringing some onboard with us to enjoy while getting ready or late at night in the room. But since it is just my DH and I , we weren't sure if we could drink all that!!! Sure is worth the challenge though!

My DH and I got on board with every intention of buying the package. Then we saw the full wine list and decided that we wanted to be more adventurous and go with quality over quantity. We ended up spending about the same amt. as we would have with the premium pkg. but got one bottle less. The premium list was excellent, don't get me wrong, but there were bottles on the full list that we had wanted to try for awhile and decided that the cruise was the time to do it.

If you decide to go a la carte, make sure to ask your server for the full list - it has a lot more on it than the standard list. I'd suggest waiting until your first dinner to decide. On our cruise, they pounced on us at embarkation to buy the soda mugs and the wine pkg. I am glad we did not just jump at it.

We bought the wine package on our last cruise and those nights we didn't finish the wine at dinner, we took it with us and finished it on the verandah!

It depends on how much you drink. I had every intention of getting the package but my DH does not drink wine. I bought a single bottle and it lasted me 3 nights. Our server just kept bringing it to dinner the next night. Also if you are not sure which wines you like (I did not know most of the names, I tend to stick with the few I know I like for sure), do the wine tasting (we went the 1st sea day). There were a few I was suprised that I enjoyed.

We were on a 4-day and brought two of our own bottles. The first one was a very special Amarone that we'd been saving for a special occasion and we drank that at Palo. Even with the corkage fee, we came out ahead since a wine like this, DCL would probably have charged $100.

The other bottle we had on the last evening and the server did not charge a corkage fee. I'm not sure if she forgot or if she just let it slide.

We also did the wine tasting, which we really enjoyed! We enjoy our wine and knew some things already, but there really was some interesting info. on this one!

ENJOY! Natt
