Hello I'am just wondering if any families will be going to Florida and visiting GKTW next week. We leave on Sunday Aug. 19th -25th. We cant wait. :cool1:

We're not going till Dec 1 but have a good time and please post any tips. I'm picking everyone else's brain to plan our trip. :confused3 Karen

We were there in August, 2005 ... just prior to Hurricane Katrina hitting Florida. My son David went back this past July (as an "alumnus") for a few hours and fell in love with the place all over again.

May some of your fondest memories be gotten at a place where they really DO ... Give Kids The World.

I will keep you posted. Are you guys going through MAW or another wish organization? I hope you have a great time. Dec 1st will be a cool early christmas gift for your family. I have a daughter named Alize too

Hi,
I was going to introduce myself in a new thread, but saw your thread. We are going to GKTW November 5-11 through Make a Wish of SC.

I have an almost 16 yo son with intractable epilepsy (our wish kid) and an almost 9 year old son. We will be arriving on our younger son's birthday. This trip has now been postponed twice due to my husband's health problems. He had 2 hip surgeries in March and April; I had foot surgery a month ago, and Cody had brain surgery last month. (Unfortunately, he was not a candidate for further intervention)

So, here's to November and a (reasonably) healthy family!

Great to meet all of you, and as Nov 5 approaches, I'm sure I will be posting wildly.

Yes, we are going thru MAW :yay: My Alize is a boy (don't blame me, his birth mom named him). I know it's a girl's name but it suits him. It means joyful one in Hebrew. Karen
