Any Eye Doctors here?

Looking for Science Fair advice. DD has Lazy Eye (Ambliopia) sp? Anyway, she wants to do her science project on this topic, but needs an experiment.

We thought about something to do with the patching process, but she is way beyond that process for herself, and hippa laws probably will prevent us from monitoring anyone else's patching process.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

We have a call in to her eye doctor for his suggestions as well.

Could you do something else related to the eye-EG -/+ lenses, people's reactions to changes?

I applaud the idea. I have no suggestions. I have Stargardt's, which is juvenile-onset macular dystrophy (degeneration). My vision loss began when I was 7 and I was finally given a correct diagnosis at age 10. I have now been legally blind for about 23 years. If she decides to broaden the scope of the project and needs a willing participant to interview, I'd be glad to help out. Just PM me.

Thanks Olena, we'll keep that in mind. We also have a blind nephew. So maybe it's a natural thing that she picked something to do with the eye for her project.

Now to find an experiment.............

My DD Lydia would be a perfect candidate for her science fair project. She has eye muscle problems related to prematurity. We do patching everyday. I have tons of pics from when her eyes were turned in, and she was very cross-eyed. She's had 2 surgeries to correct it. Since the 2nd surgery, her eyes are now turned out.

Anyhow, PM me if I can help you out with pics. Believe me, we have hundreds of them that I'd be more than happy to share.
