Any events I should be aware of before booking my early feb 2023 trip?

Just got back from a week at wdw and looking to plan the next one already

we had a great time, but certainly would have booked another week if we could do I over again

Day 1 was during the Sunday of the Disney princess marathon, day 3 was Mardi Gras (didn’t realize that brings the entire state of Louisiana down). New Star Wars hotel opening plus first day of flower festival at Epcot. Needless to say, it was PACKED everywhere all week

so now I’m looking at one of the first weeks of feb (jan 28 week or feb 4 week). I know there’s no “offseason” anymore but I am trying to book one of the historically calmer weeks and just trying to confirm that there’s nothing I’m overlooking that would make these weeks busier than historical average—other than 50th anniversary which I know will still be going on. Either week any better than the other or are they effectively the same?

I'd probably suggest Jan 28 over the Feb 4 week if you're going with historic patterns. But who knows!

Both weeks fall during EP Festival of the Arts which, IMHO, is enjoyable - I went the first week of Feb. this year and I didn't find it terribly crowded, just be prepared for, possibly, very cool temperatures. It was in the mid-50's and rainy two of the days I was there.

Princess HALF Marathon (Disney only has one full marathon and it's in January) is pretty much always the weekend after Presidents' Day. The week of Presidents' Day is a break for many schools in the northeast (at least) and Disney is a popular destination. If Mardi Gras falls that week (which it sometimes does), it's h-e-double-hockey-sticks-a crowded - and they're the same week next year.

As you said, there is not really an off-season, especially in the winter, anymore. And as people are venturing out and travel restrictions keep decreasing and being removed more people who have been putting off trips will be wanting to take them.
