We are trying to raise $2000-$3000 within the next 2 months to send some kids at our church to camp. We have done a huge yard sale and did well, and we are planning a car wash. Any other easy ideas out there? It would need to be something that can be done on a single Saturday or 2 Saturdays. Thanks for your input!

Bottle and Can drive. We raised over $800 in one weekend. Distribute flyers door to door or in mailboxes on Thursday, pick up cans Saturday and return on Sunday.

My daughters youth group has been doing babysitting nights. Friday or Saturday nights in the church nursery room or gym or whatever. Parents can bring there children for babysitting and activities in a safe enviorment from 5 to 9 for a donation to the camp fund. Last year they did a wildly successful Sonic day. All the sonics in our area allow groups to be carhops for tips. Golden corral also does bus tables for tips and our local Hyvee grocery chain does bag grocerys for tip. You might want to see if there are any programs like that near you.

Our church does a "flocking," you can buy insurance for like $40 or take your chances of having a "flock" of flamingos (or any bird) land on your yard and you have to pay to have them removed! They stay a few days and then are moved on no matter if you pay or not! Our youth chior has done it the last few years and it has done well, last year we had flamingos in our yard when it snowed!

Oh and a few other options is a motorcycle ride, everyone pays to ride or a golf tournament and our church does a chili cookoff! We have also done a parents night out too on a Friday or Saturday night from like 6 to 9 and charge $5 or $10 a child and have games and stuff for the kids!

Our community has Clean Communities. You need a group of thirty or so and it's three hours on Saturday morning. We walk at a specified area collecting trash. They supply the bags for trash and the bags for recycling and gloves. This year we were on a roadway and they provided police escorts in the front and back of our group. (Not highway or anything) The group gets $500 for three hours work and our travel soccer teams do this twice a year as part of our fundraising.

I am currently planning a Scrapbooking Day for our PTA. If you have a large space in the Church with good lighting and plenty of tables this is pretty easy. You need to have some experienced scrapbookers to help organize it.

We are charging $35 per person and providing lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks and door prizes. Our cost is going to be about $10 per person for all that so we should clear $25 per person. We hope to have at least 20 people and have the space for about 45.

check with your local pizza place.
our school has their night.
if u mention the school when u order the school gets 20 percent

When we did our carwashes, we always took pledges beforehand from church members, friends and family. People would pledge so many cents per car washed. Then we would run a free car wash. Most people coming in to have the car washed would also donate money, so we made almost double the money.

I don't know what part of the country you're from, but in the Midwest a brat/hotdog sale is good for at least $500 on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon...especially if you can get some of the food donated. Sell a brat or hotdog, a small bag of chips and a pop for $3.50-$4.

My DD's very expensive gymnastics team does coin drops at Wal-Mart. We have the girls wear their competition uniforms and stand in front of the doors at Wally World and ask for donations from the people going in and out. We generally raise between 1500-2000 dollars in a weekend. We do 3 two hour shifts per day with 2 girls at each door. People are usually very generous! Just be prepared to have parents present and tons of coin wrappers ready!

Our Youth made well over a thousand last summer with an auction night. Church members and local businesses donated items for a silent auction - nights at their condos, nanny services, mini-golf passes, movie passes, etc. Then, the ladies of the church provided baked goods and we had a big auction of all the cakes, pies and treats. There were like 50 things and some went for as much as $70! I think everything went for at least $10. It was a big success!

Thanks for all of the wonderful ideas! Keep them coming! I can't wait to get started on some of these!

Krispy Kreme doughnuts have a plan for groups... You buy doughnuts and then "deliver" them. Sunday school classes/ groups would order them

Our youth does well with meals after church. Last time it was winter here and each youth brought a croc-pot of soup and a dessert and corn bread. Donations totaled over 500.00.

Getting ready to do a big chicken dinner on a Saturday. Car wash included.
Goal is 2000.00.

Getting as much stuff donated as possible is the key. Have church members sponser 10 plate (whatever the cost is to do 10 plates), donate desserts, can drinks, paper goods whatever.

A few weekends ago the boyscouts did a fundraiser at a couple of our local grocery stores. They picked a rainy weekend, put about 5 to 6 kids at each store with big umbrellas. They would walk you to your car with the umbrella for donations. They made pretty decent money and the kids had a blast walking in the rain (it was nice to not have to unload your groceries while wrestling with an umbrella)

Applebee's has a fundraiser where you sell tickets for breakfast (here it's 5 and you keep 3) and the kids (and parents) roll utensils, get drinks and serve food.

You can buy a few big tickets items and sell raffle tickets (Depending on how many kids you have, this can be a big fundraiser)

Oh another thing the youth group at our old church did was a movie night. They showed a family movie in the church gym (had planned on outside with a projector but it rained) and charged for popcorn and drinks as well as had donation jars at the entrance. When I was in high school our debate team and drama club did a combined fundraiser every year of a dinner theatre. It was always spaghetti and humoruos skits and jokes or a variety show. If you have outgoing kids in your youth group something like that could be fun.

We also did a basket ball tournament. We made about 500.00 and it was so fun.

Teams paid 10.00 to enter. One team had four generations playing on it!!! so cool. We made up a bracket and paired "like" teams. Most were family.

We sold hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, desserts and drink.

Also did a state/carolina (we are in NC) raffle basket.

Most stuff was donated so that really helped a lot!

Cost to get in was free.

Involve your church members as much as possible to get the most support from them!!!!

You can call it whatever you want but it is called BEGGING! I hate being harrassed every time I walk in to a discount store or grocery store. Please do something to earn money.

We always did "Rent-a-Kid" and we would do all kinds of odd jobs for money.
cut lawns, wash windows, babysit, prune bushes, rake leaves, fold clothes. Really whatever the person needed assistance with. The church member provided any supplies for their requested task so it was pure profit. One year I helped a lady who was moving and I packed and wrapped all her china and crystal since she was moving. We had a suggested hourly rate, but many many people would give us $50 to $100 for just a couple hours of work. We would go to our job sites in groups of two.
