Everyone seems to love the 50s Lake View....but after sifting through all the pictures I think the 60s looks like better theming. We're staying Mid-Jan.

50s has tons of purple and well I'm not sure m DS7 is really going to like that (you know it's the small stuff that counts!).

We'll have a rental so I'm not concerned about being close to buses.

You would have to park in the 50's or 70's parking lots, as there is no parking lot close to the 60's due to the lake. If you look at the map the designated parking lot for the 60's is out front in front of the main building:scared1: . Also from some room in the 50's I know you can see part of Illumination (not sure if you can see them from the 60's). Other than that I would think most of the 60 lakeview rooms would be closer to the food court than the 50's.

 A few 60's lake view rooms have a view of IllumiNations (rooms ending in 32 through 36 have a great view, 36 is the end room). These rooms are not further from the food court than the ones in the Tramp Building (3) in the 50's, but the 50's have parking much closer. You could part at the far end of the 50's, and have a sidewalk directly to your 60's lake view room - not a short walk, but not bad either.

Totally understand about the color of the buildings - I'm a far cry from 7, but prefer the 50's not only for location and view, but color as well! Works for adults and munchkins :)

Have a wonderful trip!!

I would have no problem with staying in the 60's lakeview rooms.
The room & "view" themselves would work for me and they should be standard rate. The cons are more a location issue for me. If they don't bother you, I would go with the 60's......the YO YO's are great !

Cons:
Far walk to car (we drive everywhere). Our 70's room was a far walk for us, this would be even more.
Far walk to quieter pool (Hippy is just too busy for us)
Good chance we wouldn't have the view of the fireworks we have had and we enjoy that

Note: I am traveling with a disabled adult so the car is a must.

We've stayed in 60's lakeview before and really enjoyed it. We drive also and I believed we parked in front of the main building.

We stayed in 60's lake view room last Feb...the first thing my ds, then 8, said to me was, "Why do we have to stay in the FLOWER building? Why can't we stay in the PACMAN building?" So for him it was less about color and more about flowers. But he soon forgot about it and we loved our stay there. It was very close to the main pool (we used it once in Feb...cold!) and very close to the main building. We used Disney buses for almost everything and it was convenient for that...but when we needed to use our car it was quite a walk to the parking lot! I have also stayed in the 50's and that is MUCH more convenient to the parking lots, and also not too far from the main building.

When I have a rental car, I request 50's by the parking lot. There are LOTS of great parking spaces which are a very quick walk to the rooms in that area.

This is a HUGE selling point for me when renting a car. :)

Well I showed DS some pictures last night and he was liking the bowling pin theme. So maybe we will end up in the 50s. Which building is the best? I'm more concerned about view than being close to parking lot.....I don't want a pakring lot view.
