Right now I am working on hanging wallpaper below the chair rail in my dining room, but I have DIYed everything we have done in our house so far (my dad is a carpenter/contractor and helped with the construction type stuff). I did
my own backsplash (all by myself, no help from anyone!) a few months ago and I documented it on my website (you can click the various links in this posts to see the pictures if you are interested!)
We just finished the
living room, which included running the wiring for new sconces and an overhead light fixture (both antique), putting up crown moulding, repairing the really badly damaged ceiling (about 1/3 of it was sagging from old water damage, it took 2 weeks and to fix that alone), painting, putting up wallpaper border. I have pics of the dining room progress on that website but they are all out of date at this point, I will post befores and afters when I am finished.... but the dining room got new crown moulding, we lowered the ceiling in the bay window to hide the beam that ran across it, wall repair, paint, wallpaper border under the crown and wallpaper below the chair rail.
We also ripped out a closet in the mudroom and created a new
laundry nook. Here is a
before and during if you are interested.
I like to document my progress, sometimes when things take so long to do you can forget how far you came and what it looked like before... it's nice to see the befores and afters side by side like that.
