Any DISers live in the Hampton, VA area?

I'll be heading to Hampton during the holidays and was curious if anyone is there!

Hampton Roads? Is that what I mean? LOL! So far, everyone I've talked to has referred to it as Hampton.

Hampton is an actual city in VA. When people speak of Hampton Roads area they are referring to: Hampton, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Norfolk, VA Beach, etc.

Aha! Thanks for that, Pooh Girl. Just curious...are there decent comanies for employment, or is it mostly just the military?

I'm not too sure. I live just outside of Richmond. I know the military is very big down there. Newport News Shipbuilding is a HUGE employer as is the Sentara hospitals.

Wow! Newport News Shipbuilding looks interesting. It reminds me of when I worked for a company...Kearfott Guidance and Navigation...up north that did the guidance and navigation systems for military air craft. That was a GREAT place to work and one of my favorite jobs! That was my last job before we moved to FL.

I live in Virginia Beach which is just across the river from Hampton. There should be plenty of job opportunity. You are only about 30 minutes from Williamsburg which is awesome!!

A good paper to get is the Virginia Pilot. Covers a lot of that area.
