I'm wondering if there are any DIS'ers going to Cedar Point (roller coaster park in Ohio) in the next week or so? I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd give it a try. (I've got a few questions for you if you are.)
Oh! Thanks. I'm hoping against hope that we'll be able to find someone who will be there the same time we will who loves roller coasters!
DS (who is almost 11) is a coaster maniac and is looking forward to going on EVERYTHING. He'd even like to go on Top Thrill Dragster. While I think I can do MOST of the coasters, the thought of going on Millenium Force and TTD is making me queasy inside. (Force may not be an issue because it's down right now, but that just means he'll want to go on TTD even more!)
So, you see my quandry? That's what we get for having an only child, I guess. I need to rent a teenager.
My real question has to do with their express system. I know they have a rudimentary one, but all the explanations I've found of it are kind of vague. How does it work (or not work) as the case may be? (We're going to be there next weekend, and Friday is Coastermania. I'm guessing it will be massively crowded. Fortunately, DS is an ACE member and can get in with the early-morning Coastermania crowd, but otherwise, we'll be fighting the lines the whole time we're there.
I'm not going soon either, but I live 20 minutes away. Is there something I can help with?
I also know a few season pass holders who would probably help out as well.

Ooh.....I didn't know Cedar Point has an express system! Do tell, please!!! We're staying at Hotel Breakers, and I know we can get into the park an hour early, but I didn't know about an express pass.
I hate to burst your bubble, but I am pretty sure they did away with their express system. We were there opening weekend and again this past weekend and didn't see it in use either time. They had also taken down the sign for the express pass entrance for Magnum. I also did not see any of the little carts that they use to issue them at.
It was rumored last year that they were going to do away with it.
You may be able to get him to avoid TTD by just showing him the line for the darn thing. Dd's been wanting to do it for awhile but every time we go, it's got a huge wait and/or it was broken down. I'll bet you can distract him with all the other coasters just waiting for him!
We're hoping to go the weekend of June 10th but I'm still working out all the details.
Well, that explains why it's so poorly outlined. I wasn't depending on it. We're staying at The Breakers, too, and will be using the extra hour, but I was hoping to get a little extra time by using any other systems they had in place. Thanks for the info.
Thanks! That means if I survive the big hill, I'll be okay? I think I'll be going on the Force a few times if they get it fixed.
You've made me feel a little better! If Force is open, we'll skip TTD. Our original plan was not to bother with it, but with the big one closed down right now, DS is trying to "salvage" his roller coaster riding challenges.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Millenium Force opens and we can put TTD out of our minds again. Think positive thoughts for me.
Maybe I missed it but I didn't see the dates that you're going to be there. We go several times a year (this will be our 2nd trip already) so send me a PM and I'll help you out best I can
