We'll have to park for 11 days......ouch that adds up! Are there any discounts available? Also, where do you go through to reserve your parking spot? I've never had to do this before.....seems like there are all kinds web sites you can go through to book.

If you park on airport property (the Big Blue Deck) the cost is $10 daily. We always park offsite -- AirlinesParking.com has 5,000 spaces ($9 w/AAA-AARP) and they have special rates for weekly parking. My favorite is us-park.com with 5,000 spaces ($9 w/AAA-AARP or $55 weekly). Others are Qwikpark.com and parkngo.com -- they are all comparable in price and all have coupons on their websites. We have never had a problem parking during busy times (Easter, Xmas) .....when U.S. Park runs out of spaces they valet park your car.

We just parked at the Big Blue Deck and it was $9 per day. But watch out for using your credit card in those new machines that they have installed - there was a HUGE lineup trying to get out because of problems with the machines.

Depending on where you live in Michigan, you might want to check out the MichiganFlyer - the shuttle that runs between East Lansing, Jackson, and Ann Arbor. We almost took that, but were getting back into Detroit so late that if our flight would have been late, we would have had to wait until the next morning to catch a return shuttle. I've heard from people who have used the shuttle that they really like it.

We are also going for 10-11 days, Dec. 5-15 flying out of DTW.
Here is the best rate I have found and how I got it.

Sorry if this does not come up as a direct link you may have to enter it manually. This takes you to a site called the Park N' Fly network. By going to the address I posted above you get an additional free day.

Click on "get your free day, click here"
On the next page click "Locations" at the top of the page.
Click on "Detroit" on the map
next under quick quote enter your information and airport ,"DTW"

I was able to get a rate for our trip of $75, taxes included. Without going to the address I mentioned above the rate was $80. This is for the "Airlines Parking" location very close to the airport. Many of the other off airport sites had weekly specials but the extra days that we needed add up quickly.

I believe there is a $10 dollar cancellation fee if you cancel. and you must pay in avance to get this price.

I just made our reservation online at this rate. Hope this helps!

Thank you, this is some good info. Do you have to call them directly? I didn't see anywhere that you could book online.

Yes the directions I gave you were for a free day with your rental. It is a promotion link but if you follow them it knocks off a few more dollars. If you just go to the park n' fly website without booking through the link page first it will be $80 for the parking. This was just a link that was shared with me that works for any airport if you start there at the site for the dallas airport. I thought I would throw it out in since you were looking for the best rate. This is the least expensive option I have been able to find even if you do not book through the dallas link first. I got $80 for 11 days without the free day and $75 with the free day. The cheapest I have found without it was about $9 per day. I hate spending that much for parking so I look for the best price.

Some of the off-site parking lots that I mentioned charge $55 per week -- not sure what the charge is for 11-days (maybe $7 per day extra). You do not need reservations for any of these lots. I am not sure if they take reservations, since they are probably never needed.

Also -- the Big Blue Deck increased to $10 day.
