Just wondering where (within walking distance) is there to eat around the Candy Cane Inn? I am thinking that when we go for our afternoon break it may be less expensive to grab a bite outside the parks before we return? Would love to hear any suggestions.:)

I like this map: http://www.geocities.com/ashpsyche/DisneylandLinkMap.html

It's not really on the way to the parks, unless you're going the long way around, but we liked Coco's on Katella. You will also be pretty close to the new Garden Walk shopping center, with Bubba Gump's, Cheesecake Factory, and another big place I'm forgetting right now. Oh, looked it up, the one I was forgetting was PF Changs; website for the center is http://www.anaheimgardenwalk.com/

Then going up Harbor we enjoyed Millie's and Mimi's.

IHOP is tempting, but I've read that their prices are WAY above what most IHOPs charge.

Theres a strip mall across Harbor with a buffet Chinese place (which isnt very good) and a pizza place (which is ok). I think theres some other food place there but I dont remember. Down near the crosswalk there's a Denny's and an IHOP. There's some restaurants on Katella but I never went to any of them. The new Gardenwalk is close by and it has a bunch of restaurants I've heard.

There is a Subway in that little strip mall across Harbor.

I believe one of the hotels directly across from the parks (Tropicana?) just had a Quiznos put into the front of their hotel.

If you look at this map and click on the purple restaurant tab at the top, it will reveal all the area restaurants:

subway?? where is this little strip mall from hojos dangermouse?

It'd be about a 20 minute walk from HoJo, Jade. It's all the way down to Katella.

Quiznos is a lot closer since it's on your way to/from the parks.

Click on that map I linked and it should give you a great idea of everything close.

And I have to mention, right next to the Subway is a wonderful, very authentic mexican taco/burrito stand. When we stayed there, we would get one a day for my very picky 5 year old who absolutely loved them.

Quiznos is at Carousel. :) Across the driveway from their office, so it *looks* like it's not part of them, but it is.

Yes! If you are looking for something that is not fast food: IHOP across Harbor and Katella, you can see it from the parking lot. It is to the right, not the one farther down on the left by the Dennys's. The new Garden Walk is only a block and is a comfortable stroll across Harbor. Go straight down Katella. They have several upscale places, but also have a California Pizza Kitchen that is not quite as expensive. They also have Bubba Gumps, Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, and McCorrmick & Schmicks. You can also take their shuttle back to downtown Disney if you want.
