Just exactly what I thought, too. I called Disney to put a note on my ressies regarding room preferences at Wilderness Lodge. I got a friendly and chatty CM. We talked for five minutes about my up coming trip. I finally mentioned that I sure hope FD will be available for us. I told her I thought the announcement should come around April or May (given past experiences). She then said, "How would you like to get it now ?" Woohoo ! I couldn't believe it. Give it a shot. I too have free dining secured for nine nights in September from a bounceback I booked on my last trip.

Note that it doesn't mean that there will be a general FD offer...but it is a good sign.

I don't believe there will be any free dining public offers outside of September in 2014. There are many reasons for this that I'll share in a bit on my other thread. Disney has been very focused on PIN offers of late and that trend will continue.

Hopefully some of you may score a PIN code so keep your fingers crossed.

Surely someone knows about discounts this close to January! We are going March 20th. Usually some kind of discount is out for that date, but the S/P/D that is out now cuts off at March 5th!!! I need a discount please!! Anyone with the scoop please let us know!!!!

I think there will be one, because they are already offering free dining with pins.
In early December I received a card from disney destinations with pin codes for FREE Disney Dining Play for 1/3-3/5/14. (when a 4-night/5-day package is purchased).
The same card also had a pin for 35% off of Disney hotels for 1/3-3/5/13, 3/14-3/22/14, 3/30-4/12/14, 4/21-5/31/14 and 8/17-9/27/14.

Would say call and see if you have a pin attached to your name, and if not sit tight, I am sure there will be other discounts offered. Maybe call once a week and see if any have been added?
One of my biggest Disney vacation regrets is that I did not call and ask for the free dining in 2006. We stayed on property (AKL) for 6 nights. There is no reason for us NOT to have had free dining, except I never asked. We met all the qualifications to have it. I think everyone else at Disney during that time was on free dining. Every restaurant seemed surprised we were handing them our room card to charge the meal to and that we did not have the dining plan attached. Was not on DIS then or would have known to do it .

I had a long discussion with a manager at my resort when booking the BB last year. Based on my travel dates, I was entitled to FD or room %. It was already well now that there would be FD according to the manager. Not sure about earlier in the year, but it appears the fall offers will be similar to this year. Good luck to everyone trying to book.

August wasn't included in the Free Dining fall offer, and it isn't expected to be offered for 2014 either. Outside of September, free dining offers will likely be done as only PIN codes and bouncebacks. I do anticipate September as the offer for 2014, estimated dates of Sept 1-26.
