We have TS ressies for the cape may clambake to avoid eating at HS for dinner. But i'm wondering what good options they have for CS? We've eaten at Pizza Planet (which was ok) and we've eaten at the ABC Commissary and it was awful.

Anyone like any of the CS restaurants @ the studios?

Somehow I don't think there are any. We've tried Rosie's, which was just okay; very limited options, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it. And we had the grave misfortune of trying the ABC Commissary ... it was horrible!

Pizza Planet is probably the best. We usually avoid CS at HS...opting for Sci Fi instead...or going over to Beaches and Cream on the Boardwalk.

The Backlot Express is pretty good. They have chicken ceasar wraps and grilled chicken with rice and black beans which is something different you don't get everywhere.

We liked the food at Rosie's, but usually don't want burgers & fries since we can get that at Mc D's, lol. Pizza Planet is o.k. pizza, like getting a salad as the side there. sometimes the chocolate chip cookies there are fresh out of the oven - they're delish then. But last time we went , the cookies were like day-old (or maybe week-old) and totally yuck.

For lunch at DHS, we really, really like the sandwiches at Starring Rolls...limited choices, but we've had all three & liked them all. And if you're on the dining plan, lots of really yummy choices for dessert (instead of the usual prepackaged choc cake or carrot cake you get to choose from lots of bakery items there or desserts in the cold case, too.) They only have the sandwiches at lunch, though, and once they run out of the day's supply, that's it (The choices are like a ham version, a turkey version & a veggie version served on artisan bread like foccacia...the servings are generous, and you get choice of prepackaged chips, soda or water & dessert if you're using the dining plan. But they don't make the sandwiches there, they just serve them - so there's no custom orders if you don't like what's on the sandwiches. The kitchen from Brown Derby makes them.)

Yes! I feel like no one knows this (or very few people do), but Starring Rolls is terrific. Sure, you only have a choice of three different sandwiches, but they are all SO good. And the desserts can't be beat.

I agree with the previous posters - Starring Rolls is fabulous. I adored their banana split dessert (which was like a banana mouse with a chocolate base and other deliciousness I can't remember, but I know it was good!) and their entire dessert case was full of fabulous desserts. The sandwiches were HUGE and tasty - but the ham one had spicy mustard which I do not like, so I'd have the turkey with pesto if I went again. Really great food, lovely shady patio with seating. Also, their breakfast pastries are FABULOUS as well. We ate there three times. :lovestruc

We had never been to the ABC Commissary for lunch before, so we decided to try it in June and we really loved it. We had heard bad things about it, but couldn't find anything else we wanted to eat that day, so we popped in several times over that week. I think I had the fried fish and it came wiht Chocolate mousse YUMMO

I didn't care for Pizza Planet, and since they changed the chicken strips to nuggets, I don't like Backlot Express.

Thanks, now I am craving ABC Commissary

Suzanne

We love Starring Rolls. Their food is fabulous! :thumbsup2

The Backlot Express has a Southwest Salad with Chicken, a Grilled Turkey & Cheese Sandwich and a Grilled Vegetable Sandwich.

The Studio Catering Co. has a Barbecued Pulled Pork Sub, Grilled Chicken - with Rice and Black Beans, a Chicken Caesar Wrap and a Greek Salad.

Backlot Express is the only CS I'll eat over at DHS.

We like Pizza Planet, and Starring Rolls. I think we had lunch a couple years ago at backlot express, and that was good.

Just want to tell you that Sci Fi lunch is really really good. Brown Derby is also good for dinner. Just throwing that out there for you.

We did Pizza Planet and it was pretty good. Only thing is DS gets mad because he wants to play in the arcade.

Last year my family chose to eat at the Backlot Express. I had the grilled turkey and cheese sandwich which was delicious. Can't vouch for the rest of the menu but I plan on having this sandwich again in the future.

:thumbsup2 Backlot Express! I also had the turkey/cheese sandwich on our last visit and it was amazing! My entire family liked what they had and you get a lot for your money. Free refills on drinks too. I would definately go there again!

My family likes the chicken curry on rice at ABC Commissary. It's only for those who like spice and east Indian curry. We have it every time we are at DHS. Also, we like to substitute the fruit cup side dish for dessert on the dining plan

We've never had good luck eating CS at DHS. This past trip, we ate at Pizza Planet for the first time. It was pretty good. Not the best pizza ever, but good enough to fill the void.

Warning though, the kids pizza is TINY. There is no way it would have satisfied my DS 10 (9 at the time). We ordered 3 adult meals and split them between the 4 of us. It was plenty of food for us (with boys 14 and 9) and we didn't leave feeling overly stuffed and uncomfortable.

I'm not keen on any of them. My family would rather wait to eat. Too many bad experiences there I guess. I don't know what it is but all the food is just downright yucky. I'm surprised Disney hasn't done anything about it especially with so many complaints circulating.
