I need to get the tires on our VW Routan replaced before we drive to WDW, from Oklahoma, this may. Just wondering if anybody is aware of any deals to help cut the costs down.

We have bought tires a few times and the best prices have been Costco, SAMs club and Walmart (order online and install at store because for some reason this was better deal than what was offered instore.) we have purchased tires for a dodge ram, jeep grand Cherokee and most recently a Oldsmobile Alero.

Tire barn and the like ended up being more costly for the alero tires.

A lot of tire places will price match with tirerack.com. I always use tire dis counters because I also get a free alignment. They match the price and add $25 per tire for mounting and balancing. Usually the shipping is pretty close to the $100 they charge, and I get a free alignment. Plus I don't have lug the tires around and all that. It's nice.

I use tirerack.com and then have a mobile service install them at my home.

I need a deal too. That Goodyear deal doesn't have my size.

I certainly don't want to buy tires somewhere that price matches with tirerack, I've never seen tires anywhere that were as much as tirerack.

I prefer Sears for tires, but now I have a local guy with good prices (out in the middle of nowhere.)

I've never lugged tires around...

It's wierd you say that. I have experienced the exact opposite. The tires I'm ordering for my range rover right now is $31 more at sears than on tire rack. The other range rover got tires last year and I saved like $300 over Sears on the tires that I wanted. I also saved almost $1000 on the tires for one of my corvettes by using the tire rack prices.

All of my vehicles pretty much use non common sizes and I am pretty picky with what it tires go in my car, I will pay more for the best. I love tire rack. Getting tire places to price match them has saved me a ton of money across all my vehicles.

And any dollar saved is a dollar that can be spent at Disney.

I just meant if you order from tire rack, I would assume you would ship the. To your home, then put them in your car and take them down to the tire shop.

I guess you could have them shipped to the tire shop, but I just don't trust people.

This is what I do with my local mechanic. I wouldn't do it if I didn't have a prior relationship with them perhaps, but it works for me.

Tire rack has also been cheaper and most convenient for me.

I had ONE tire replaced at Sears once and it was an ALL DAY LONG process as they didn't actually have what they needed on sight. It was close, but making 4 or so trips with the wrong stuff every time adds up!!
