Any DCL veterans done American Queen steamboat?

Ok, I've done DCL twice and we all know the DISBOARDS are a wealth of info, but now I'm thinking of doing the American Queen out of New Orleans and can find hardly any info on it! Can you help? Thanks

I have not done it but my MIL and FIL have and loved it. My wife and I tried to get them to go on my DW 40th birthday Wonder cruise and they said they can't see ever going on something other than a American Queeen cruise. Something about always being able to see the shore line and seeing something new along the way. Thought they would be bored silly on a Wonder type cruise esspecially during the full day at sea. They tried to convince us to do the American Queen instead and they would help celebrate their DD birthday. How do you like that? To say my DW was a little dissappointed/upset is an understatement. They are very spendy.

I went to cruise.critic but it didn't have many posts. Apparently they are not big into forums like us Disney fans! I decided to book for June 2006 on a 7 day since there was a 2 for 1 discount. There are many discounts out now if you book before 6/30 and they include this summer thru the end of next June.
