no MK studios for 12/18 & 12/19. We are LV. It took us 2 hours to get through this morning. We are happy just to get something for that weekend. After 2 hours....we didn't know if there would be anything left.

Because the unsold rooms can be rented to the general public. That makes money for the Developer. They can make money by renting the rooms they still own.

Only the units (represented by points) that have been sold to members are available to book for points right now. The developer does keep some of the unsold inventory on the member side of things to be able to legally sell. As more BLT contracts are sold, more capacity will be sent to the member side of things from the developer side. When they do that, some who are on the waitlist will get their reservations.

You can go to the Orange County website (www.occompt.com) and check the documents that are filed when they declare units into DVC. Typically with new resorts, they declare units into DVC inventory somewhat ahead of sales. They have to be declared before they are sold, so there are always more declared than sold until they eventually sell out. It is my understanding that units cannot be reserved by members until they are declared (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this). So it would seem that a waitlist should eventually come thru, provided they declare more units before the ressie dates you want.

The last batch of BLT units declared (if I remember correctly) was on Jan 16th, and consisted of 5 units of 3 2-br's each, for a total of 15 2-br's.
Prior to Jan 16th, approx 58 2-br's were declared.

Dec 3rd MK view is booked at BLT doesn't matter what room type.
we split ours up. MK 1 br from 11/28-12/3 then 12/3-12/4 LV.

I wanted that MK view darn it.

Thanks for the info DVC-John. That really explains things well. It is nice to know that there is hope for a WL. Although, I am just glad I got our dates...no matter what the view.

i got thru in 50 minutes yesterday and could not get a 1 bedroom at blt for dec 31 but did get it for dec 30 thru jan 2 and lv for the 31 with a waitlist. hope the waitlist comes thru. I asked how could they go that fast and they said only 20 percent where mk views but very happy with what i got.

I was a day late in booking our Treehouse Villa for December. I called this morning at just after 9am to book a THV December 5 - 11th and was told no availibility, so I'm waitlisted.

It was nice to read this thread and hear that more THV may come online in the future, so there is still hope for us I guess! Fingers crossed!
