Any crazy, weird or over the top Facebook friends?

I friended an old high-school friend. Since then, every status or post has been over the top, I mean WAY over the top, Republican posts. She's one angry, but passionate person. So not the person I knew in high school. :scared1: I've got no problem with the Republican stuff, but, yikes, mix up the posts once in a while. Everything is about wanting us to write letters or go out and protest or read a certain book.

How about some lighter stuff once in a while about your family or your other interests?

How about you? Any FB friends you are thinking about dropping or a least blocking from having to see daily status updates?

Yeah, I had one friend who posted something anti-abortion--which is fine, believe what you want to believe--but it had a REALLY graphic photograph with it. I immediately blocked his daily status updates. No need to sneak attack people with stuff like that.

I accepted a woman I knew who sent me a friend request. She is VERY religious. All her statuses and updates were about God and Jesus. I wasn't offended or anything, but it just bogged down my home page with all this religious stuff. I go on FB for fun, not a Sunday School lesson. No offense to those who are extremely religious. I wouldn't have minded seeing in once in a while. I do believe in God. But it was overwhelming. So I unfriended her. I think she has enough friends where she didn't realize I was no longer one of her FB friends. Like you said, how about some fun stuff once in awhile???

One of my high school friends changes her status about every 5 minutes, and it's ridiculous. She'll post "having a sandwich", then a few minutes later it's "finished my sandwich now having some pudding". Then it goes on and on to describe every bite, etc.

Then comes dinner. The posts are "I'm cooking dinner", then a few moments later, it's "eating steak and having a glass of wine", then "finished my wine, now watching 24 on Fox".

It goes on and on and on and on!!!

I mean......:scared1::headache::upsidedow

OMG. Talk about overkill! Hope she didn't post about her bathroom rituals!:scared1:

Okay, I have a friend who posts really tacky quizzes, like "how many times do you have sex per week", or "how dirty is your mind". Then she talks about how "wasted" she gets on the weekends, while her kids are with her ex. She is an old friend from high school, and that sort of thing really doesn't mesh with my current lifestyle of current friends. I'm thinking of "unfriending" her because it is a little much.

I "hid" one poster from another Disney Boards. All she ever posted was aches and complaints. What a prima donna! I got tired of reading that she was tired or had a headache or not up to snuff that day. And, she always got positive feedback about her condition and lots of sympathy. It was OTT. Thank goodness for the "hide" function.

That is hilarious! :rotfl:

I have a not-so-close relative as a friend on Facebook. Her updates are almost impossible to read because of spelling and grammar. When I finally decipher them, they're not usually worth the effort...

I have a friend that does the exact same thing! I'm totally OK with the scriptures posted or whatever, but she turns everything into a religious issue, from the current movies that are out, what's on TV, current events, etc.

LOL I have a friend kind of like that. Most of her posts are about what Obama is doing wrong, which whatever LOL. I agree that I go on Facebook for fun, so I might start hiding her posts too.

Not weird but I found out via facebook that a person who bullied me a lot in school is now working at a church with teenagers. I don't know why it rubs me the wrong way a bit but it does.

there's a girl on my facebook and EVERY SINGLE status update is about how much god loves her and how god is going to fix every little thing wrong with her life. and i mean no offense, but i tend to feel that god gives you the tools to help yourself, not to wait for him to unspill your spilt milk (and those are the things she's so broken up about)

another one who feels the need to update every second of the day with every single thing she is doing and every place she is going.

I'm a FB friend with one of my husband's friends. I finally hid her posts for her status updates because they were so hippy-dippy. "Awakened to a glorious rain. It is washing the day clean of all of yesterday's sins. We shall all have a new beginning with this cleansing rain."

The posts were just weird, but that's the way this chick is in real life. I can take her in small doses, but not every time I open my facebook page.

My facebook pet peeve is people in relationships who every 5 seconds need to remind us how 'in love with ____ they are'
I mean it's nice, good for you. But talk about something else!

I was thinking we had the same friend, but my old friend doesn't want to DO anything, she just wants to "get back" at all the people who were rude about Bush the last 8 years, by being nonsensically rude about the current dude in office. And most of the things she mentions just don't make sense, the things she said people complained about were NOT what people complained about.

For fairness's sake, I wouldn't have enjoyed that sort of in your face posting about the last guy, either. I might have thought the stuff but I would'nt have enjoyed someone being militant about it.

The only other thing she posts about is drinking and fishing...I keep her friended, well, I'm not really sure why, but I pretty much just skip over her stuff nowadays. :(

AND she said she likes Universal more than WDW...I mean, seriously. She hasn't even given WDW a fair shot yet. :)

Oh my goodness I'm so glad I don't have any of those types!

I discovered one of my neighbors likes to write poetry and ummm he is not very good.

Nope, not one. They're all great...including the DISers! :thumbsup2

I have not connected with anyone from high school. It's just not a place I want to revisit.

I have a few I've had to hide. :lmao:

One woman who is ultra religious posts every couple of hours with praising the lord for being so good to her and what good fellowship she had at this or that function. Never posts anything that doesn't include thanking god for something. Hey, I even have a pastor and a priest on my list and they're not that over the top with it!

Another woman -- such a sweetheart and I love her to death, but she practically makes love with her husband right there in her status updates and wall posts. Way uncomfortable, so I had to hide her posts just so I can still look her in the eye when I see her. :scared1:

A different one, like someone else said, was posting all these sexual quizzes and things like that. Just as I'd hide one quiz, a new one would pop up, so I solved that by just hiding her. Some of them were pretty out there, and I'm no prude.

Do any of the rest of you wonder who has you hidden because you annoy them? I do now!

I know I have been unfriended by a member of my family!!! My brother-in-law unfriended me because he didn't like seeing my game posts - I sent him instructions on how to hide everything related to that game but he said I was taking up too much room on his feed and he was missing posts from his real friends....

My feelings were a bit bruised but I realized to each their own; if people don't like what I'm posting on my wall they don't have to read it. :lmao:

The only thing I don't like is he is FB "friends" with many of my friends (from high school/growing up) and even my spouse. So the other day Hubby was telling me that Brother in law was camping over the holiday weekend at such and such place - I didn't like being out of the loop :sad2:

I have two friends from years ago that hated each other. We were all roommates and when we went our separate ways there was no love lost between the two of them. Now on FB they are sending each other posts of how much they miss the other and valued each others friendships and talk about all the good times we had when we lived together. They used to yell at each other for leaving a drawer open in the kitchen. But now I get to read their love fest. It's so bizarre!
