I'm trying to think of what I should dress up as for Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party. I like the Disney Store costumes but they don't have a wide selection for plus sized women, so I'm thinking of "making" my own costume. I think I'll be Gus Gus from Cinderella. It should be easy enough to "make" right? My dad is the one who sews so it's up to him :lmao:

Any ideas?

The stores dont usually carry adult costumes anymore. Maybe they will again this year being that we went back to the Walt Disney Co. as of May 1 vs. being owned by The Childrens Place. Some stores did however get very select adult costumes such as Jack Skellington, Sally, Jack Sparrow, and I think thats all, last year anyway. Your best bet would be online. From my understanding, they carry upto a XXL on some items.

You could make something, I think Gus Gus is a very cute idea!!!:thumbsup2 Something you probably never see, I like that. Is anybody dressing up with you?? I have always like the villian costumes, especially Queen of Hearts. Lots of great ideas for her!!

I was Queen of Hearts last year!::yes:: So far it looks like I'm going by myself, which I don't mind too much. I might be able to get my sister to come.

I think I'm going to go as the queen of hearts this year!

I want to be Alice! I need to find a modest looking costume. All the adult Alices they have online are too racy for Disneyland,

were all gona go as pirates im thinking of dieing my hair white or blue (two i like for fun and this would be worth it hehe) and then my DH was thinking of going as barbosa or kinda like him. my son just wants to be a pirate for me hehe he says were be a family

I am going to be Minnie Mouse::MinnieMo . All I have really seen (besides DisneyShopping) is "naughty" ones. I am actually going to get one of those, a 1 piece though so I dont show my belly, and just add black leggins to it. I already have my ears and my shoes. I found a pair of Minnie ears at work a couple of weeks ago from last Halloween, I got them for like $1.50. Great deal. I also got me some sexy yellow heels on line for a minnie, or snow white costume, but I will also where them when I go out. They are very cute shoes!!::yes::

Last year I went as a Candy Corn Witch. This year I think I'm going to be a Mouseketeer. I also have a Snow White and Minnie Mouse costume so I'll probably change my mind a dozen time before I actually go!

Yeah, All I've seen are "naughty" alice costumes:lmao: Keep a look out online. Google Adult Disney costumes (don't worry it's not that kind of "adult" :rotfl2:)

:rotfl: :rotfl2: I'll do my research!! Lol, not THAT kind of adult! :lmao:

I saw the CUTEST Minnie shoes online last year. I think it was from disneyshopping. They had the red bow (or something like that) and they were normal women's high heels, they were SO cute!

I remember those!! They were cute. You should have seen the tiny little ones that came to the stores for the little bitty girls. We had a pair that was I swear the size of my finger!! A little bitty size 5/6. They were so adorable. I got mine from zappos dot com, they are Jessica Simpson shoes. Actually I think I might wear them to work tomorrow :)

Phew...glad im not the only one thinking of Halloween costumes this early.:)

We all wanted to do something "themed", thought it would be cute for all of us to go as "The Incredibles" since there are 5 of us. :goodvibes Not so sure I can convince dh to it...lol

We will probably end up just doing Jack and Sally, from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Super easy, super cute.

Being Gus Gus would be cute. Or how about one of the fairies from Sleeping Beauty? It would be cuter if you had 2 other ppl w/ you, but it is disney related, easy to recognize, and not that many ppl go as one of the fairies. Winnie the Pooh is easy to put together or what about Edna Mode from the Incredibles?

For the past 3 Mickey's Halloween Treat, I've gone as Steamboat Willie, a 50th anniversary Disneyland custodial person, and a Dapper Dan. The Dapper Dan costume got me kicked out of Disneyland bc I "apparently" looked too much like them even though I'm a girl, my hat was made out of styrofoam, and they were wearing a different color than I was for Halloween. At least I still got to go to Mickey's Halloween Treat, but it just goes to show you how crazy strict some security ppl can be. Some didn't even care. lol.
I try to make my costumes out of regular clothes so I can go to DLR as well as DCA for the party, and so it's not a "costume" but it kinda is bc I'm portraying something else. :P

Hope I helped some!

They're singers on Main Street that sing in the style of a barber shop quartet.

Thats what they are called!! That was my guess when you said that, but I couldnt remember if that was them or not!! Cute idea. Funny though if you dress as say Mickey, you dont get kicked out:confused3

My DH was Mr Incredible for Halloween two years ago and his costume was easy and a riot. He wore an Incredibles t shirt, red track type pants with his black SPEEDO over the pants!!! Likely not all that comfy, but PERFECT!!!

I also painted a black mask around his eyes. It really was perfect!!!

I was the queen of hearts last year and it was a very easy costume to sew together. Also made my dd alice and my ds the white rabbit and my ds a card. All costumes were made and took a while. This year we are thinking of doing my dd as tinkerbell, ds as peter pan, dh as hook and me as wendy. I think we will all buy the costumes and make just mine. I am a plus size gal and it is hard to find costumes. Disney does have sizes up to XXL and most of the XXL costumes stretch. Some times ebay has good prices of the plus size disney costumes. Hope you find something that works. We are looking forward to the mickey party at disney world this year, YEAH

Being one of the SB fairies is a great idea. I'd so be Merriweather!
