wonder if anyone can help, and thought there's bound to be someone on here who can!

i've got outlook set up on my computer. in the past when i've clicked on links in emails, its opened them up in internet explorer no problem.
the last few days i've had to install a few updates, but nothing that i thought was that important or that should have changed any computer settings.
now when i click on a link in an email, it comes up with "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. please contact your system administrator" and wont open it
i am the system administrator, i'm running windows vista and never really had any problems with it before. i did download an update that changed my browser to chrome and i changed it back to IE, so not sure if thats got anything to do with it?

wondering if anyone knows how i can change the settings back? (please can i have the idiots guide for the less techno savvy ;))

thanks in advance

Hey, I'm not that techy but this may help. Fingers crossed...

You could perform a system restore. A "restore point" should have been created automatically before your most recent updates were installed.

If you do this it should restore your computer to how it was before the updates.

I can't remember off the top of my head how to do a system restore. What I used to do was go into the main "help and support"'and search for system restore. Should give you a link somewhere...

Not too techy either but you could check your update hasn't changed any of your security settings in Outlook. If you go to 'Tools' then 'Options' and then click on the 'Security' tab. There is a tick box in there that if ticked will not allow you to open email attachments.
