I'm trying to find the piece of music from the Sleeping Beauty I always understood that the piece used in the film for the song 'once upon a dream' used the music from the ballet Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky [bet I spelt that wrong] but I've not been able to find it anywhere. Am I right? Is the music used 'The Sleeping Beauty Waltz' or was it specially composed for the film and have I been wrong all these years :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

You are right it was taken from Tchaikovsky: The Sleeping Beauty. It is from the movement called Valse.

If you have access you can listen to/download it from Napster. Search for "Sleeping Beauty" under Albums.

I could be wrong but I always thought the music was called the waltz of the flowers from the ballet sleeping beauty ,ive seen the ballet and i seem to remember girls with flowers dancing ,but it was a while ago and ive had a few sleeps snice then ;)

I thought it was from the ballet - I knew I'd heard it when we had a local touring company and I went to see The Sleeping Beauty. What made me wonder was a copy of the music on CD which I recently bought. Strangely this piece wasn't on it and as I'd always thought of it as one of the signature pieces from the ballet it got me puzzled.
