Any Chipotle fans here??

I always get the same thing, and it's so good every time that I haven't been able to force myself to branch out and try something new.

Vegetarian burrito with black beans. Messy, but YUM.

My favorite Mexican restaurant is our little local neighborhood place. I had heard a lot about Chipotle but we were disappointed with our meal the one time we ate there. The tacos weren't nearly as good as our little neighborhood place and everyting seemed overpriced. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing? :confused3

We don't have Chipotle here in Charlotte- but we do have Qdoba, Moe's, and Salsarita's. I assume Chipotle is like these? We really love Moe's, and like the other 2 pretty well, too. DH is a big burrito fan- I like the quesadillas, and we both love guacamole.

There is a great little hole-in-the-wall place in Atlanta called Tortillas (on Poce de Leon Ave near VA Highlands)- they have been serving those overstuffed burritos since way back in the late 80's. Great for broke, just-out-of-college folks like me.

My husband and I love Chipotle. I sooooooo wish they had it here in England. We always say that when we go back to the states we need to make sure it is where they have one.

My DH went on a business trip to the states a while back and was able to go eat there. I was so sad I made him actually describe the entire meal. How sad am I? :rotfl:

I love it! I love crispy steak tacos with corn salsa. My dd loves their chips. The big downside to Chipotle for us is - the store is next to Cold Stone's. Now, clearly I'm not going to make Cold Stone's feel bad by not picking something up as long as I'm there.... :teeth:

I like Chipotle, but DH is addicted! He has it probably twice a week. Ack!

We are convinced that Chipotle uses some sort of addictive substance in their burritos. The first time DH and I had Chipotle, we thought it was only okay, but the more we ate the more we craved. A conspiracy I tell ya! :rotfl2:

I like California Tortilla better--which not sure why it is California since on menu they just have stores in DC/ Maryland?

Same for us!

Chipotle is similar to those places, but their ingredients seem much fresher. There's just something about it!

I had never heard of Tortillas, and I go to Va-Hi fairly often. I did a Google search and found an article that said it closed back in '03 after Moe's moved in next door.

Same here! “Our” Chipotle is in the NW suburbs of Mpls and there is a Cold Stone right across the street. It’s probably a good thing that, after eating a carnitas burrito, I’m usually too full to eat ice cream!

Yeppers. It takes us about 40 minutes through traffic to get to one, and then another 40 home again, but it is totally worth it! I absolutely love it and try to get there every week (at LEAST every other)!

I eat the fajita chicken bowl with sour cream only.
DS 1 gets a barbacoa burrito w/hot sauce.
DS 2 gets bean and cheese burrito.
DH gets chicken burrito w/pinto, guac, sour cream, cheese, and hot sauce.

We like CA Tortilla, too. We used to go to the original Bethesda location when that was the only location. Maybe I'll e-mail the owners and ask why they are CA Tortilla if all their locations are around here. Are you on their e-mail newletter list? It's pretty funny.

I also like Baja Fresh, but sometimes it's hit or miss on the service (food is always good).

I liked it, but any time I think of going there (usually at lunch) I think it's just too much food. Maybe one of y'all can come and visit and we'll share a burrito. :)

I agree and it is one thing that stops me from going more often. I wish that they offered a smaller burrito, in addition to the large one. Sometimes I can talk my DH into sharing one with me, as long as I give him the bigger half. :)
I've had the tacos, but didn't like them as well since they were so messy.

I pass by Chipotle & Moe's all the time. I've never tried either one. I do love Mexican food. Now you have me curious!

We live near Denver and there are Chipotle's everywhere. My 15 DS would eat there every night if I let him. In fact he and his friends ate their tonight.

Oh, no!! DH and I used to go to Tortillas when we were dating. DH lived in a dinky little apartment in Little Five Points, and we went to VA Highlands alot. Tortillas was across from the big sports bar/wing restaurant on Ponce, and across and down from Fellini's pizza.

I don't know how that end of Ponce is now (we haven't lived in ATL in a long time), but back in the late 80's/early 90's, it was pretty scary.

I tried Chipotle out when I was home for the holidays. There's one a couple of miles from where I live, but that means NYC which means it's not that convenient. Wish they would build one on this side of the river.

We don't have on here but there are several near the University of Maryland where DD goes. So, we go there when we visit her.

Foolishmortal, what happened?

Where in MD are you?

Love love love Chipotle!!! My friends call it Chifatle though because it'll make you fat if you eat it all the time... like they used to :rotfl2:
