Any changes with Kali River Rapids?

I have just been to AK in May and I realised that they have made some changes to the Kali River Rapids ride. I think that Disney has removed some of the huge water fountains after the first uphill in the ride. Those fountains are supposed to get you soaked (a lot more fun!) and I don't think they were there when we went in May. Could anyone please tell me if those fountains were in place again?

I'm not sure if they have been removed but they didn't really get you soaked, they were more inclined to make you think you'll get soaked. Maybe that's why you don't remember them?

Perhaps someone else has been recently and can give a better answer than that.

Those fountains were one of the few--very few--high points of the ride. Removing them, or turning them "down" would make Kali even less attractive than it is now.

I was there in May, and honestly can't remember if they were still on or not. I'm hedging a bit, but I think they were. I got completely soaked either way anyhow. Sorry that wasn't much help, other than to say I don't remember anything being different.

I was kind of upset in May because I was expecting to get "soaked" by those fountains. And I didn't experience the water splash from the drop either since I am facing towards the bottom of the drop. Hopefully this time the fountains are on to cool me down under the sun!

I was there at Easter and in July and I think they got rid of the fountains. I used to love them.

Just back last week. We rode it about 3 times in a row early one morning. I don't remember the fountains you're talking about, but I can tell you we got totally SOAKED!!! Felt great in that 95+ degree heat!!

I couldn't believe that Disney took out the fountains!! Is there any way that I could get them to fix it??!!

The fountains, much like the elephant statues that squirt you at the end of the ride, are switch on and off-able as far as I understand. Depending on how hot / cold it is in the park (and whether the CM's remember to activate them), they might soak you, start up but then die down just as you approach (thus getting you a little bit of spray, but not a soaking) or not be on at all. Or at least, that is what I was told when I asked why they weren't on last year.

In early June I got soaked by the first fountain at the top of the hill, and then got squirted by the elephants at the end!
