Any changes to Little Mermaid?

We have been at the parks all week, and were very excited to have the Little Mermaid open on our last day (today, Saturday). It was closed for much of the day due to "technical difficulties" (much like many other rides all week :(. I finally got to ride it in the evening, excited to see what changes they had made, based on things I had read about the refurb. I haven't been on it since last year, but I did not notice anything new or different...? Can anyone share if there were different things that I missed? Or was it just rumor that they were changing anything?

Mainly lighting changes and adding some fish. But from the pictures, things are looking better in the Under The Sea scene. The ending that was rumored may get added/changed at a later date(rumor). Here is a link if you want to see some of what was done.

I was hoping Ariel would maybe look a bit different. I love that ride but man she looks so weird to me!

The biggest change is in the lighting. Some of the figures were also replaced. I think they added Ursula's death at the end of the ride. In my opinion they mostly got rid of that warehouse feeling that the ride used to have. All the backstage stuff seems more subtle to me.

They added a bunch of static fish throughout the attraction to make it feel more full. The under the sea room is significantly better now, due to lighting. All of the characters above the sea no longer have rubber hair in any of the scenes near the end. The ride still has flaws but is much more enjoyable now.

Yes, I did think they had added some fish in the air for the Under the Sea area (but actually wondered if they were broken as they were not moving but looked like they were maybe on tracks). And I agree, Ariel is kind of creepy looking for some reason! Eyes too big or wrong face structure...not sure what it is...Thanks for the info :).

Just watched the video and the one thing I noticed that was not mentioned in the article is that her ice cream cone swirl hair in the under the sea scene is gone!

The ice-cream cone hair has been gone for a while now. That wasn't done during this most recent refurb.

According to WDWNews:

- A number of static fish figures were added surrounding the first screen with Ariel and as well in the tunnel heading towards the Under the Sea sequence.
A picture of King Triton’s Castle now adorns the small ocean scrim before the Under the Sea sequence.

- The Under the Sea sequence received the most major changes as it now relies heavily on black light like a traditional Disney dark ride (for example, like Peter Pan’s Flight). This was done to make the scene darker and to hide the very visible lighting rigs that more frequent park visitors have complained about.

- Several other scenes are now relying on black light as well, though it isn’t as noticeable as in Under the Sea. Again, this was to hide infrastructure visible to guests during the ride.
