Any chance we could get park reservations?

Headed down for a cruise in April. The day before the cruise, we’re going to Universal (first time for 5YO DD). The days after the cruise, we have plans to stay near Universal, and doing the park one or two additional days.

if DD loves Universal, we’ll keep our hotel reservations. If DD doesn’t love it, I was thinking about cancelling, and trying for DL for a day. Then I remembered the reservation process.

Any thoughts on if it will even be possible to get tickets and park reservations for DL on a 5 day notice? It would be a Sunday, and I think the next week is a LA school break week.

don’t really want to make DL reservations now, in case DD loves Universal. We’ve been to DL 3x with her, so thinking2-3 days at Universal might be a good new experience.

Universal is really a one day park, especially with a 5 year old who probably isn't tall enough for some of the rides. 2 days is probably too much and 3 days is definitely too much.

Upcoming weekends are fully available at Disneyland for tickets but out for Magic Keys. So if you're buying tickets, you *should* have a good chance of getting a reservation but it's less of a sure thing compared to weekdays. I recommend just booking one day at Disneyland now unless you have other things you'd want to consider doing. For example, the California Science Center is great for kids and Santa Monica is another option that's more theme park like.

Thanks GF!

My daughter rode the motorcycle ride at the fair 9x in a row…. I’m thinking she may spend an entire day just in Super Silly Land and Dino Park! :-)

I think you’re right - 3 Days at Universal is probably too many though. In reality we’ll probably only have two days for parks, and one day wrapping up with relatives after the cruise. If DL isn’t fully reserved on weekends now, I’ll probably take my chances and keep the Universal hotel reservations, and try to switch only if needed.

I didn’t realize they were separating Magic Keys attendance from regular ticket holders. The school district holiday won’t be as big of an impact then (although other spring breakers may kill that). We were just there for a week in October, so I think we can miss one DL opportunity.

Wait! Did I just actually say that?! 😳
