We will be arriving at WDW this Thursday 10/16. I have been trying to get 'Ohana for a couple of months to no avail. What are the chances of doing a walkup if you get there as soon as the podium opens around 4:45 or so? Is it worth taking the chance???? By the way, we are a party of 4. Thank for any advice.

It's always worth a chance......but when we had ADRs we arrived the 10 minutes ahead that they ask and still ended up waiting 20 minutes past our ADR, and walk ups were turned away.

You might try stopping by earlier in the day to see if they have any specific time available, that might work better than showing up and hoping there would be something available at that exact time.

Also...don't give up on calling....people are cancelling reservations all the time so there is always the chance that you'll get lucky. Le Cellier is supposed to be a difficult ADR as well, and yet we called about 2 weeks before we arrived and got lunch reservations. Luck of the draw I'm sure.

While I agree with the PP to keep trying both before and during your trip, it's worth a shot as a walk-up if you can't get anything. Last time we ate at O'Hana, our ADR was for 5:15. We showed up at 5 and were seated immediately on the right side of the restaurant. We were the only occupied table on that side for the first 30 minutes of the meal. (Apparently they had a lot of no-shows, cause I was only able to get an ADR through a trade with a kind DISer - this was on a MNNSHP night and they were completely booked.) That's not to say that it would happen that way for you, but getting there as soon as they open would probably give you a good chance.

We went in Sept of 2006 when the "Free Dining Crisis" hit and Disney was contacting people to make the ADRs because restaurants were getting booked up so fast. Now I know it's a bit busier in Oct than Sept, but many restaurants were taking walkups, even Le Cellier (the wait was like an hour though). Ohana was taking walkups, in fact we ended up getting surpassed by many walkups even though we had ADRs. We saw several families/groups show up after our ADR time as walkups and get seated before we ever did.

I am also getting to Disney on 10/16 and have tried for two months now to get in at Ohana's. We are going to try to do a walk up too. Keep your fingers crossed.
:rolleyes1

I tried for last june for weeks and couldnt get in. We went there when they opened, and got right in. In June they opened at 730. I think we where there about 715.

It's almost impossible to get into 'Ohana without a reservation. In fact, most nights when I am there, 'Ohana doesn't even accept walk-ups; the podium CMs will tell you flat out that they they're all booked up for the night, even if you get to the podium 30 mins before they open and ask as soon as the CM arrives.

It's worth a try but since O'Hana is so popular you might not be able to get in. Last time I went was in December and they weren't taking walk-ups b/c they were packed. Of course it was during POP Warner week too.
