Any chance of discounted ticket prices

for someone that will not be riding any of the rides? My Mom is going with us on our trip but is not (cannot) ride any of the rides. Is there such a thing as a discount ticket for people who are just there to look?

The price of admission at WDW includes so much more than rides. There are many shows, parades, entertainment, shops, restaurants, etc.

I'd be surprised if she said she didn't get her money's worth even without going on any "rides."

Are you absolutely sure she won't go on any rides? Not even Small World? What about Carousel of Progress? There are so many slow-moving, scenic rides at Disney. This includes Pooh, Snow White, Haunted Mansion, Living with the Land, Energy, the Mexico boat ride, the Great Movie Ride and Imagination. Just a little bit more adventuresome are Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Buzz Lightyear, Jungle Cruise, Spaceship Earth, the safari, Maalstrom and the backstage tour at MGM. There actually are more in that category than in the thrill ride category. Also, unless her health precludes riding in a truck, I'm sure she would enjoy the safari in AK at least.

And then there's all the Disney attractions that aren't shows at all -- parades, fireworks, Hall of Presidents, Country Bears, Indiana Jones, the new car stunt show, The American Adventure, the wonderful entertainment in each country in Epcot and movies in France, Canada and China.

Tar Heel is correct, there is -SO- muich to do, nto to mention world class shopping. Unfortunately there is no discount for Lookey-Loos.

Ditto what everyone else said. There are a lot of interesting WDW places where one can look around for free (resorts, DTD), but entrance into a park (regardless of how much or how little one does) requires a regular ticket. A long long time ago, WDW was a pay-as-you-go-on-rides place, but no longer.

Well, Planetsis reminds me that even back then you still had to pay to get in. She says you could use A, B, C, D, E tickets from anyone's ticket book, but you couldn't get in to the park (or was it that you couldn't get TO the park, via monorail or ferry?) without a ticket book -- not even Gramma.

Thanks everyone....Didn't really figure that there was. I don't think that I am actually grasping the fact that this will be more than Six Flags.

Since that is the only theme park I've ever been to I kinda have in my head that this is how WDW is....I know that my thinking is wrong and I will be soooo pleasantly surprised by everything there is to do there.

When a sporting event ticket can go for $50 and up and a broadway show for $100 I think you will find that the cost of a WDW ticket is a very reasonable value....enjoy!

I think you will be soooo shocked. I would love to see your face when you enter MK!!!!! Trust me, Mom will LOVE some of the rides. Even now, years later, every time we go on It's Small World we think of my beloved mother-in-law. She adored that ride and she was the kind of person like your mother who you would think wouldn't be able to go on much.
