Any Chance Holiday Inn @ DTD's Replacement Will Be Pet Friendly Hotel?

It would be so great, if DTD had a pet friendly hotel. WDW doesn't allow Swan & Dolphin to accept pets. Does anyone know, if they have the same stipulation in the contracts of DTD hotels? It's becoming apparent that they'll never offer a pet friendly resort onsite. DTD would be the next best thing. Have they already announced what will be replacing the HI? Just a thought. As Disney says, if you wish upon a star....... :wizard:

No hotel info, I'm afraid. I just wanted to share that you may want to consider the WDW kennels, as we (our large dog) had a great experience with boarding over Labor Day Weekend. It was inexpensive and convenient. The staff gushed over every animal. Just a thought. Whatever you do, enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

Did you read my post about the Comfort Suites on Turkey Lake? I just booked it with the magicard rate of $55 and it's pet friendly. I'm willing to try it, just wondering if you had ever seen it?

I'm wishing............ I'd really love it though if it was maybe like a few rooms at WL or CR though. ;) When I wish, I wish BIG!

Thanks for the suggestion. :) Molly's never stayed in a kennel. She gets very nervous at times. We like to stay places where she can stay with us, & I can make sure she eats well.

I'm definitely with you on that one. ::yes:: Personally, I'd like to see a resort in each category, or at least a wing of a resort in each category made pet friendly. It doesn't appear that WDW is even willing to consider the possibility though. :guilty:

I don't have any experience with the Comfort Inn you mentioned. We like to stay onsite at the parks. Before we sold our RV, we stayed at FW @ WDW &/ or onsite at UO. For the last few years, we've staying at the UO resorts exclusively.

I agree about onsite. This is just for the late evening we arrive in Orlando. Hopefully we can check in at Portofino Bay early the next morning so we won't have to put Scruffy in the kennel until the room is ready.

no Holiday inn is not pet friendly. here is the link
http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/pc/1/en/hotelsearchresults?_requestid=1447522

however there is a Holiday Inn Express not to far that is - also as mentioned the Comfort Inn

that Holiday Inn Express has some bad reviews.

there is a timeshare that I like alot Celebration World Resort - very pet friendly.

now it is not a world class like the Universal's hotels.

but it is closer to WDW and the people there try their darnest. (most of them don't speak English)

this is closer to the AKL/AK

over on the other side is the Comfort Inn closer to DD.

La Quinta Inn, Amerisuites, County Inn & Suities - aren't too far either - here is their website

Now Spicey stayed at the WDW kennels alot. I visited him 3 to 5 times each day. I feed him - because you are right you can't tell if your pet is eating unless you are feeding him.

I can highly recommend the FW kennel. He stayed there every year (sometimes 3 to 7 times a year) for his 21 years. now the last few years were day trips - because I decided to stay most of the time in CWR.

Just realized that you're in B'ham. We lived there for three years in the early 90's. Loved that town. What par t of town are you in? We lived in Vestavia/Bluff Park and out in Chelsea in Shelby County.

hi Robin - I live in Homewood in a condo about 2.5 miles from work and mother (in the other direction). She lives in Vestavia.

work is just outside of Mountain Brook.

My brother lives in Ga - Stockbridge just south of Atlanta.

Bluff Park joined with Hoover a couple of years ago. Hoover is growing very, very fast - part of it is in Shelby County.
