Any chance for last minute New Years trip?

We just bought DVC and just last night decided to see if we could get anything for late December/early January. Of course, everything is completely booked. I'm willing to take anything - any resort, any view, either a 2 BR or 1 BR. Anywhere between 5 and 7 days, anytime between December 26 and January 5.

Is there any hope? Can I waitlist something as broad as what I just said or do I have to choose a resort, dates, etc.? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

There's always a chance, but for any trip that includes 12/31/2012 & DVC, the chances right now are virtually zero. Sorry. The good news is that you will be able to book at 11 months if you choose the week between Christmas and New Year's again.

You are allowed to have two active waitlists. You will have to choose a specific resort, dates and booking category (room size, view, etc.)

Did you buy direct? If so, there's a possibility that your sales guide can help you get something for this year. The guides have access to unsold inventory and can often "work a little magic" for a member's first reservation. Doesn't hurt to call and ask for help to get your first reservation. If you bought resale, this perk will not be available to you.

Thanks! We did buy direct and it never occurred to me to call our sales rep. I'll definitely get in touch with him to see if he can work a miracle.
