Any chance DL and DCA will close later?

I just looked again at the Disneyland/DCA park hours for our visit at the end of August. I can't believe DL closes at 9:00 pm & DCA closes at 8:00 pm on Mon. 8/31! Also, no Fantasmic, 1 WOC and 1 PTN parade on Monday night. Any chance these hours will change -- isn't it still summer till Labor Day?

Those are typical 'off season' hours but you're right that they typically start after Labor Day. It does look, however, as if they're starting shorter hours earlier this year, if you look at the calendar for Aug and Sept. Interesting. Fantasmic is usually weekends only in the off season, same with fireworks.

August 31st there is an Annual Passholder event happening that begins at 9pm, so I doubt that will change. Sorry! :(

If crowds are still strong, I wouldn't be surprised if they extend the hours, but you won't see it until about a week before at the earliest. Similar thing happened in the may leadup to the anniversary, a few days got longer hours than originally posted, but they also had a bunch of those early closing media days and grad nights around that time.

edit: didn't know about the ap event, in that case, that day is probably set.

We are actually going to convert our 1 day tickets to APs this trip...will we be eligible for the AP event? What is the AP event anyway??
Thanks!

It's pretty much where DL tries to get you to renew your ap. I've been to these ap events before and they were nothing special imho.

No, you won't be able to attend. It's one of the "AP anniversary" events for AP holders with APs that expire sometime near the time of the event. I guess it's supposed to remind you how great DL is and encourage you to renew for another year of fun. AP holders have to register for the event in advance, and registration is closed.

DLR tends to transition from the full peak/summer schedule to the non-peak season schedule starting in mid-to-late August. While Labor Day is the official end of the summer season (in that nightly fireworks usually ended that Monday), things begin to wind down earlier (about when the SoCal and SoCal Select AP summer blockout ends). This year things are a little different because fireworks will be presented nightly through at least the end of HalloweenTime (which is not usual). If you skim through the historical calendars posted on the wdwinfo website, you'll see that the hours began to be shorted and F! wasn't nightly anymore starting around August 25 in 2014. It's disappointing for folks going in the end of August, but not unexpected based on the past.

There are already tiny signs of Halloween sneaking into Disneyland (such as the pins that appeared last week). This is definitely the prelude to the transition, or the winding down of summer and the segue into Halloween Time.
