Any Chance Disney will spring a bunch of refurbishments before September

Hello I am this close to booking for the 14th to the 19th of September at the Disneyland Hotel. I am spending so much on this vacation I just want it to be perfect (or as close as I can get it :)) Everything looks good as far as refurbishments. Indiana jones is only down for 3 days and HM and SM will be back open. I've accepted I'm going to miss Matterhorn and Nemo as I know there will always be something down. But if anything else big goes I may consider moving dates. Does Disneyland have a habit of suddenly announcing a ton of closings in August or right before September? I'm really nervous about Splash Mountain as we miss it almost every time we've been.

Thanks for the help!

thanks for the info. I can't imagine Disney would announce a bunch right after Labor Day for two weeks later! I can see them talking about October November closures but don't they at least try to give the traveller 6 weeks notice?

I would expect Haunted Mansion to be down, as they close it in early September (sometimes before Labor Day) to switch it to Nightmare Before Christmas.

Disney announced that Halloween Time will start on 9/12, so the OP should be okay for HM and Space baring some major set back with the overlay.

In terms of the rehabs, I do think this year is kind of an anomaly between the issues with OHSA and the prep for the 60th. DL doesn't necessarily have "a habit" of adding rehabs at the last minute by choice, but things can always happen that are unexpected. In other words, while nothing else major is announced at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if more things go down over the course of this year. I do recall reading (in Miceage) that the FL rides are all slated for rehabs throughout the rest of the year (no schedule has been announced nor have the rumors even been confirmed).

In terms of Splash, that normally goes down in January. It went down like normal earlier this year, so I would general assume it'll be running in September (barring some issue with OHSA or an emergency rehab).

I really DISlike how early Disney (and every other retailer) pushes Holidays. Halloween should be no earlier than the last weekend in September, through First Weekend in October. And they should NOT START putting the Christmas Decorations up until after they are taking down Halloween and it should not start being "Christmas" until Thanksgiving Weekend.

I agree, but unfortunately it draws people to the parks. Locals will go when they first put up decorations to see them and ride the seasonal rides. They will also go again when the holiday actually approached and/or to see them one last time for the year. So by spreading out when they put them up and take them down they draw a few more people into the parks

I agree. We could still see some refurbs to prep for the 60th. And, while the dark ride enhancements is still a rumor, I think it will happen. They didn't NEED to plus Alice, but they did. I think they will make enhancements to some others as well.

I am watching the closings closely. We are scheduled to arrive on 9/03 for two nights. I knew going in HM would be closed. Not happy with Matterhorn going down but can live with that. When does SM go down for adding Halloween?

If they decide to close much more we will probably just stay in Palm Springs for an extra two nights. We have until 8/03 before final payment is due.

SMGG typically only takes 3-4 days, so likely the 8th or 9th.
