Just wondering if anyone has eaten here for any meal since all the new menus started and the photo packages. So............don't keep us in suspense........how was it?????? :confused3

I have not eaten there in quite some time.. but I did recently meet the person who will be the new manager there. She is a doll, I bet we will see great reviews coming from there.

Okay, went last night. The food was very good. Maybe not excellent, but very good. We were started with delicious pretzel rolls and seasoned butter, you had your choice of a crab and corn soup (one in our party had it, and pronouced it delicious), and a fantastic BLT salad, or a spring roll (no one with us ordered it). Entrees we chose were Prime Rib, cooked just the way you ordered! One in our party ordered Salmon and loved it, but thought the accompaning rissoto was too salty. I ordered rare, and it was rare, but also good and hot. It is accompanied by au gratin potatoes that were just mediocre. Dessert choices were Chocolate Mousse Cake, Rasberry Sorbet or Blueberry Buckle with some kind of sherbet. We placed all our dessert orders when we ordered our meal, however, when we saw the little chocolate crown on the ice cream delivered to the child behind us, we asked for chocolate crown desserts. Two of us got yummy vanilla ice cream sundaes topped with chocolate crowns, and one held out for the chocolate cake, which Gustavio accompanied with a chocolate crown for her. For entertainment - was a little disappointed here. Maybe 10 minutes after we seated Suzy and Perla came in to some fanfare of music. They sort of circulated the room, but very fast, and never stopped moving, so you could never even get a picture of one of them alone. The Fairy Godmother made her appearance on the balcony in the back, so if you are seated in the center of the room, you could see her, but we had a very obstructed view. She flitted around the center of the room, never toward the raised areas on the sides or the section back by the windows on the back of the castle. The whole little show lasted maybe 10 minutes. There is no opportunity for photos with her, or of her. We were disappointed in that. Even if it is not a character photo opportunity, it would be nice if she could briefly pass by each table. Photo package was beautiful. A 4" by 6" for each member of the party, and folder with a large maybe 8" by 10" of the castle and our party with Cinderella. Cinderella was only downstairs, and there was ample opportunity to take your own photos with her down there also. Hope this helps!

WE GOT TO EAT THERE LAST NIGHT!!!!

Arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation time and went right in to see Cinderella and get our pictures taken. She spent a lot of time with each guest and between guests sat down on the floor and all the very small children who were shy started coming up to her.

We waited about 35 minutes to be seated, but feel this was because it was during Wishes and people were staying at their tables to see the fireworks, not due to the staff. We were seated immediately upon going upstairs. Sat right by the windows to Fantasyland. Our server came right over to get our drink order and also took our food order. (We had checked the menu downstairs and knew what we wanted.) He returned with beverages and Pretzel rolls with a good butter with a touch of honey and mustard.

Menu was well done from our party's standpoint. One doesn't do beef or pork and was very happy with her options. We thought meats served were great and the sides were acceptable, but ordinary.

Dessert was the perfect ending to our dinner. Chocolate Mousse Cake was very good.

During dinner they brought our pictures to the table. We had an 8 X 10 of the group and the Castle in a presentation folder. Additionally there was a 4 X 6 photo for each member of the party. We also received a lithograph of the castle with characters. Plan on having it framed and adding pins.

Shortly after being seated, a fanfare of music was played and Suzy and Perla came out and made a quick trip around the room. They didn't stop at tables and moved too fast to really get any pictures. Most of the activity takes place in the middle of the room. Fairy Godmonther was introduced and made here appearance on the raised walkway along the south side of the main room. She then ventured down in to the main section, up to some of the side sections and a quick trip to the back where we were seated. She was great, but again, no opportunity to take photos. We didn't expect to take pictures with the characters, as we knew this isn't a "breakfast" type of experience, but had hoped to at least take photos of the characters. They did sing a small song to celebrate any special occasions and they had the room lights dimmed slightly while the sparkly twinkly lights went off all over the dome and around the sides of the rooms.

We will go again and realize this is there first days at this also. Hope they take my advise and just have the characters slow down a little!!!

So just a general question....what were the options for the food that you can remember? The only one I keep hearing is the prime rib. Up until now, everyone had a different list of what was being offered. What other options were there?

Last year it was so nice. We had Cinderella, Snow White, Mary Poppins, Sleeping Beauty and Belle come to our table and the interaction was wonderfull. My 3 grandkids loved it and talk about it to their 2 cousins that are going with me this year. I so hope they are not disappointed in not seeing the other princesses!!!

I think it will depend on what meal you go to. We went to dinner last summer and there were no characters at all...only Cindy in the lobby. At breakfast, there were the characters you referred to. We did both last year. This year, we are going to try the lunch. I wasn't going to because of the price, but this may be our last trip for a few years.

This interaction is still available at breakfast, just not Dinner.

I'm afraid the characters can't slow down much...Suzy and Perla have under 4 minutes to cover their sections of the resturant in the beginning segment. In a normal character dining situation, that would take half an hour. Your best bet is have your camera ready and move quickly. There are moments when they stand in one place long enough for a quick shot. I'll be performing it with an audience for the first time tomorrow so I'll see what I can do to make it work better.

AngieBelle - you always sound like you really care about the type of experience your guests have - you truly are the type of CM that WDW needs, as great CM's create the magic, and the memories, for people of all ages! :wizard: princess:

I'm just waiting for reviews of lunch now as I'm stuck between booking that or dinner! We've done breakfast before and loved it, but would like to try something different! :teeth:

Aww, thanks! Well, before I started this job, I was an avid character seeker. I know what sort of experience I like to have so I try to give it to the guests. I've even walked backwards while leaving set so the guests could get one last shot as I go...not always the smartest thing when you have no peripheral vision! If I'm able to, I'll usually strike a pose if someone points a camera at me.

No wands or swords for kids.
So the kids would get them if we did the lunch but not the dinner?? Seems like a penalty shot for the dinner guest. I'll have to rethink my dinner ADR.

To AngieBelle:

Just curious, why do Susie and Perla have such a short amount of time to cover their sections? I admit that I don't know anything about the lunch or dinner there.

Angie from reading the above post there does not seem to be anythig special at dinner in regards to anniversaries and birthday's?

Suzy and Perla flitter around the tables at the beginning of the presentation. It's not a character dining experience. They are only out for a short time each time.

They do recognize celebrations! The Fairy Godmother asks for a show of hands, and then everyone sings a celebration song to the tune of "Happy Birthday." My guess is that if you want more attention directed to you- make noise or wear a big birthday hat. :)

Oh, and I have a great tip to add if you want the best experience with the characters, try to get the last possible seating. We had only 3 families tonight for the last show, and it was so much fun because they got personal attention- we danced, we gave lots of hugs; it was great. They were so excited.
