Unfortunately the vitreous in my right eye is starting to detach. My PIF date is March 14 but since I have flashes in my eye, I am at a risk for a retinal detachment. I can’t find any insurance that will cover me since it’s less than 90 days before the trip so I won’t be stable,so I figured that at least I could get a 75% credit in the event I needed to cancel.

Has anyone in Canada used insurance from DCL abd had to make a claim or have any other suggestions?

AFAIK DCL's cancel for any reason option will probably be your best option if you need to cancel after PIF.

Do you have travel medical insurance to cover you for if you do travel and run into a problem ? There are policies that have as little as 7 day stability periods.

Good luck with your eye and hopefully it resolves and heals without further issues for you.

My work medical will cover it and I also have medical with my credit card. It’s the cancellation policy that worries me.
