We just booked our stay at Aulani for Apr 2012... any other Canadians planning to go head to the new resort? :confused3

That's awesome, TagsMissy!

I'm interested, as we're thinking of Hawaii again next summer. Disney pricing is what stops me from staying at the Aulani and opt instead for the Hilton Hawaiian Village, where we had loads of fun staying there last year. If you don't mind me asking...what rate did you get?

Hey c&m long time no chat,

we used our DVC points for our stay; I am too scared to price it out for cash!....

For those of you going, I highly suggest to take the time to get off property and see a little bit more of the whole island of Oahu. The beach town of Kailua boasts one of the most incredible beaches I have seen anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands, or in the world for that matter (although the little cove beach in front of Aulani is also lovely) and try to get to Hanauma Bay for the most amazing snorkeling.Hope everyone has a wonderful time, Aloha!

I'm hoping to go in March, but that depends on the new job. I'll be low man on the totem pole so getting holidays in March might be impossible.

I'd also suggest that people go to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was very cool when I was there 17 years ago and I understand it's improved since then. Very interactive and you and your kids will learn something while having fun. Do the evening show! :goodvibes

We're planning on going (hopefully for sometime in 2012). We're thinking of staying in Wakiki (we love it there) for a few nights, then Aluani for a few nights, than back to Waikik for a few more nights). It looks like such a beautiful resort. We love Hawaii and Disney so we can't wait!

Hey TagsMissy, I took a brief hiatus from the Disboards for many months while planning our trip to France. We're back from our summer Paris and Normandy trip. Time to start planning our next holiday to ........ WDW/Universal, plus a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the RCL Allure of the Seas. So back to haunt the Disboards.

Lucky you to have DVC points. We'd have to pay with cash. I don't think I can quite justify the cost to stay at Aulani, when I can get an amazing ocean view room at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for a fraction of the cost to stay in a standard room at Aulani. Unless I win the lottery.

I am planning for 2014 using DVC points - have you booked your flights and what do they look like in terms of time, connections etc?

We will be departing from Winnipeg.

I am not a lot of help since I have 4 airports that I can fly direct out of.

I suggest putting in dummy dates for this upcoming year for around when you think you will go just to get an idea of what you are looking at.

OOOH that trip must have been fantastic! I'd love to see some photos!

You could rent DVC points and stay for way cheaper than booking a room through CRO. :) Just sayin' ;)

Our trip to Paris and Normandy was so memorable and perfect. I will remember it for the rest of my life. The trip had everything - historical sites, memorials, museums, shopping (including 1 street in Paris that sold only shoes!), food...and so on. My DD and I even took a cooking class - how to make croissants and pain au chocolat - through an amazing cooking school. I have a blog. Once I finish updating it, I'll send you a link.

I will definitely consider renting DVC points. Thanks for the idea! Do you know what the going rate is per DVC point?

I'm going on my DVC points in November. Flight was $724 with connection from Toronto-San Francisco-Honolulu. Bought about 6 months prior to departure. Good luck to everyone who wants to go.

Now that the annual dues seems to be sorted out, we are hoping our dvc sale will be finaliized soon!

We are hoping to go on our dvc points next summer or winter...

We are going to Maui for almost three weeks this winter :)

We're booked! Feb 3-11 ... though since we fly out late on the 11, I booked to the 12 to have use of the room all day! Now to book flights ....

What did happen in the end with this? I know Jim Lewis and two other execs were turfed and apparently a female cm was hired to replace Jim but I have not read anything new lately,

We will be there in 3 weeks! It will be just my 2 kids (DH can't go), my parents and my sister and niece. We are using it as our first DVC stay and have a 2 Bdrm Island View booked for 8 nights. We will stay the first 2 nights in Waikiki to check it out and then head to Aulani for some relaxation! I am just now trying to figure out dining reservations and spa visits (have saved for months and am so excited to try out that awesome -looking spa). I am also looking into the cooking class Aulani offers with chef Alan Wong as a present for my dad who turns 65 while we are there. This will be the trip of a lifetime for my parents so I am trying to research EVERY detail! I will post a report when we're back!

We'll be there starting Nov 6th for a week. I booked back in March and we are so looking forward to it! We booked an ocean view room. Anyone heard whether it's worth the extra $? Haven't been able to find any discussion on the views.
