Any Canadians going in January 2011?

We'll be there December 31 - January 10th.

DVC studios were in short supply that week, so we are doing a split stay - OKW/VWL/AKV - Jambo House and SSR.

Any interest in a Dis Canada meet for those of us going near the end on Jan?

It might be tough during the day but maybe a drink at DTD or a resort lounge after the parks close???

It would be nice to put a face to the great people I've met here.

Shayne

we will be there at the end of Jan and if it all works out would be interested in the meet , we fly in on Thursday and are booked for the cruise on Saturday, so if its either on the thursday or friday hopefully we can join in :cool1:

We are! We will be there from Jan 9-19th staying at CSR!! SO excited for this trip!!!

We just recently moved to Nunavut, so any heat is better than this!!:yay:

Jan 22 - 29 th at CBR ! First time at CBR !
Just booked and paid for our flights !

We are too! January 25 - February 8, staying offsite at Windsor Palms (we are loving the idea of that much space plus our own pool! Swimming outside in January - sounds like heaven to this Saskatchewan girl!). Have everything booked but the flights - man it is expensive to fly out of Regina - I'm hoping for some seat sales this month or November....

Hey Joy did you get the sweet air canada seat sale?
I'll be there from Jan. 18th - 28th with parents and a friend that's never been. Shh, don't tell her everest goes backwards. hehehe

It wasn't great, but it was at least cheaper! The flight from TO to MCO was the cheap part, flying from here to TO is always a bit of a rip...but I still prefer to fly with a Canadian airline than American ones. I fly so often for work and I just trust them a bit more...

I think it's going to be a great time of year to go! I'm hoping Florida has a nice, warm winter after last year's cold temps! But frankly compared to what we'll be leaving behind anything will feel warm haha!

I would never tell and ruin the 'surprise' (panic/exhilaration/screaming)!:rotfl:

Anyone going during marathon weekend? I'll be decked out in my Canadian flag apparel so long as it's not raining.

I will be there. We are actually driving home on the 8th. But my family will be doing the 5km on the 7th. :thumbsup2

We are. We're there from the 6th to the 27th. originally the 5th but airfare prices made us push the trip back a day.

So excited and scared seeing as this will be our first half-marathon ever. And as hard as we try to train we keep running into hurdle after hurdle. I'm very nervous, at this point the furthest we've run is 6miles which is not quite half the 13 we'll need to complete. Training continues. Wish us luck.

:)

I ran my first half in June of this year. My longest run was also six miles. I had to cut my training short because of inflammation in my knee a month prior to the day. It's deja vu, I'm getting some soreness in the same knee. I still train, just not as aggressive as I'd like. I ran (and took walk breaks in the last quarter) the half-marathon anyway, no knee pain afterwards, but my quads really felt it for a few days.

It's your first half-marathon, just enjoy it, say thank you to all the people cheering you on, and cross the finish line with a big smile. I know I will. Then I will register to run the half in DL in September :)
