Hello,

The wife and I are thinking about having our first ever "on-site" fine dining experience during our next trip this fall. Right now I am leaning towards the Blue Zoo, and would appreciate any and all opinions on this restaurant.

Thanks,

Blue Zoo is the only signature that we haven't dined at, but we have a reservation for next month. I've heard great things about it, but would love to have a few specific menu recommendations from those who have dined there.

Blue Zoo is EXCELLENT.
We have eaten there three times, the most current being this past december while on our honeymoon. It was heaven :cloud9:

Do you like lobster?? If so, ,the cantones fried lobster was AMAZING. Although, all of their food is excellent.

With the exception of Victoria & Alberts, bluezoo is my favorite restuarant on property at WDW. In the last few years, we have tried to dine here every trip. I've had different appetizers and entrees on every visit and I've loved every morsel.

My favorites have been the raw oysters and the scallop appetizers and for entrees I love the dancing fish and the tuna.

It's a great restaurant for adults.

A friend and I went there for appetizers- it was SO good I can't wait to go back for real dinner. I have been dreaming about the flatbread pizza and crab nachos (YUM!!!!) ever since.

Thank you all so much for the replies. We are super excited to eat there this fall. My wife read one review of the short ribs and scallops appetizer, and she has already decided that they are a must!

Thanks again,

I get that very appetizer every time we go to the Blue Zoo--which is each time we go to WDW!
One of the best restaurants on property.
Like Pakey, I also like their tuna.
The only thing on the menu that I'm not fond of is the clam chower. It's more like a broth than a genuine chowder--very thin, and a bit salty as well.

The food at BlueZoo was great. The atmosphere was different than other Disney restaurants however. They definitely seemed to cater to the business crowd from the design, to the female bartenders dressed in an un-Disney manner. So it wouldn't be my first choice for a family meal. But if those don't bother you at all, then it is a great restaurant.

It's actually an "adult" restaurant in the midst of WDW. A great change of pace and perfect for 2 adults.
And I think you might mean the girls who serve the lounge. The bartenders themselves look much like bartenders elsewhere...

I ate at Bluezoo last March by myself so I sat at the bar. The decor is very nice and the menu is unique. I enjoyed my food but I didn't like the mojito they made - it had a lot of undissolved sugar in it. But I give them :thumbsup2 for trying a unique drink. I did end up ordering a different drink and enjoyed it. I would definitely go back again - with or without my kids (but they are a bit older and so used to table restaurants that they are really well behaved).

BlueZoo is wonderful..been a few times and always had a very good meal even with kids in tow..

Our whole family loves Bluezoo, children included. I love anywhere with well prepared quality seafood.

Our Ratings of Blue Zoo:
. . . food price value: C+
. . . food quality: B
. . . food quantity per serving: C
. . . food prep speed: B-
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: B
. . . eatery convenience: C+
. . . staff friendliness: C
. . . staff helpfulness: C
. . . character interaction: n/a

NOTE: Todd English's Blue Zoo has an excellent
reputation. The food quality at WDW is in line with
his other eateries. However, I think the price is slightly
high for the food received, yielding a "C+" instead of
a "B" for value. Additionally, for $35 fish and $42 beef,
I expect superb service, and the service was not up to
that standard.

Blue Zoo ranks a bit higher for us.

We've eaten there several times and love it! I dream about that Cantonese lobster......:cool1:

of course, it's not perfect, not by a long shot.....

The girls who work the bar area/front of the house are far cooler than me, lol, and I've been there when the place is full of convention attendees (loud and obnoxious) and we've had a service issue or two....but the food and the decor make up for it and keep us coming back. :goodvibes
