Or should I say CrackBerry? :lmao:

It feels like Christmas! We all got new phones a couple of nights ago. DH's company got him an iPhone (I'm oozing green with envy!), so we all switched over to AT&T and had to get new phones. AT&T was having some good deals! The kids both got an LG Shine, which I thought was a surprisingly nice phone, and I came home with a BlackBerry Curve in red. I haven't gotten a thing done since I bought it because I can't put it down. DH and I went to dinner and people must have thought we were nuts because we were both playing with our phones.

Anyway, for those of you with a BlackBerry, what kinds of applications do you have on it? What all do you do with it? Right now I'm looking into downloading audiobooks to it. I know there's so much more I can do with it. Tell me about yours!

I have the BlackBerry Pearl in Red. I love my phone.:lovestruc
I use it as a phone, for texting and checking my home email (comcast mobile) when I'm not at home. I also use the calendar and memo functions a lot.
I didn't get a memory card yet, so I haven't been able to download any apps of add any music. I've taken some pics and had to figure out how to share them (which I did) since I don't have the data plan or BlackBerry's email service.

I have the BB curve in red. I have sprint so I have unlimited sprint tv and radio. Have you tried BB messenger yet (the IM system)? I use google talk also. Get my emails. The one thing to watch out for, is to keep it charged. I put mine on the charger every night. All the application use a lot of juice and once the battery gets really low, you can't use the phone even once you place it on the charger until it charges up enough.

I wish I had an iPhone, but we have Verizon here at work, so we have BlackBerrys. I like mine though. I'm stoked for the new touch screen BB Storm though. Should be out in 10 days, I think.

I didn't realize you could use them without a data plan! I would have gotten them for the kids if I'd known that. We spent over an hour in the store working with the salesman and he was able to get us down to $29 on the Curve -- my kids' regular cell phones were more than that!

I haven't tried the messenger yet -- I don't know anybody else with a BB. What's Google Talk? I'm a total newbie! I noticed that the battery doesn't last long. I don't think battery technology can keep up!

I've been looking at the Storm -- it looks fantastic! The guy in the AT&T store told us that they have a choice of any phone to use, including the iPhones, but most of them still prefer a BlackBerry. The only thing I don't like about an iPhone is the touch screen keyboard. I like buttons to push when I'm typing.

Not a BB addict, I don't think, LOL, but a user, 8830. Verizon is the provider. I use primarily for business....Wall Street Journal app, Net browser. I also use the VZ Navigator, an all in one GPS and GPS search engine, though I use my regular GPS in the car. I also use the weather apps, Weather and Accuweather. My business use for the basics are the Outlook functions, calendar, contacts and email, all through Exchange. For my regular phone use, I generally, not always, but most of the time, use a non BB phone.

I do use this case, (removed the strap) it is excellent.....

I had a very simialr one for my prior BB, used for 2 years.

I'm on AT&T, but purchased the phone online-no haggling with the salesman. ;) I access the internet on a pay-per-use basis. Until I accumulate more on pay-per use than the cost of the monthly data plan, I'm not switching. It might limit me to features, but that's okay (for now, anyway).

We like using the store. We live in a small town and try to give as much business as we can to local stores to help keep them open. He'd given us the option of free cases or free memory cards and I chose the cases -- the next day I changed my mind and simply went back in to exchange them and he even found yet another rebate to give us!

Yup...I became a crackberry addict last winter after my DD convinced me I "needed" to get one:lmao:
I really need to get a memory card so I can do even more with it!

I'm another crackberry addict (curve). I got mine in Sept and it's the first time in my life that I'm in love with my phone.

I have the data plan through Verizon (no choice). $29.99 for unlimited data. It's certainly come in handy several times.

Definitely download Opera for Blackberry- the browser is 100 times better than the one it came with.

A bit of a blackberry dummy here...where do you download that browser from?:confused3

I had a blackberry for 2 years, one of the older generations that was big and fairly bulky. My husband decided I "needed" it, since I am self employed and need to be able to be in contact with clients constantly via email or phone. He regretted buying it for me when I had to leave them at MGM for a couple of hours and race back to the hotel and my laptop to address something that had come up! (If I hadn't had the blackberry I would have had a colleague "watching" my files for me).

Anyhoo, I grew to love it because it made keeping in touch with clients so easy, but the data plan was expensive ($60 per month, + the phone service. I was spending $110 per month, minimum).

We both just switched to HTC Touch phones, so I still have access to my email but I am saving about $50 per month. I like it so far, but I do miss the ease I had with forwarding emails, etc with the blackberry.
