any bad rides/shows ?

DH and I enjoyed Poseidon's Fury well enough... but the whole reason we went on it was because we were hot and tired and wanted to get out of the sun for a bit! Our feet were very tired and we knew that it was a "walking tour" but we'd describe it more as a "standing tour" You go to one room and stand... then walk to another room and stand... and walk to another room and stand yet again. The pain of our aching feet didn't bother us too much when we were walking around, but standing still was painful! So if you're tired and your feet are sore... skip this one!

I did Disaster once and don't feel the need to ever do it again.

We've never done Shrek, and have no interest in ever trying it.

T2 is one of my favorite attractions and a must-do for every trip! (I should probably note that Terminator and Terminator 2 are two of my absolute favorite movies and I'm a huge fan... If you're not a fan of the movies, you probably won't enjoy it as much...)

Hard to say! I think for your first visit you should just try to read up on what's there and prioritize what you want to see. Then try to do as much as possible. You never know what you will like or not. For example, we recently got back from our first trip and I am the biggest ride chicken ever, but I loved all sorts of rides I didn't even think I would do. Have fun planning :goodvibes

My DH and DS are both big Terminator fans so enjoy it for that reason. I like it too and always see it at least once a trip without sleeping ;)

Absolutely true :thumbsup2

.......my two were like......how the heck can you sleep through that? It was hot........I was tired!!

I do like the show though, it's not as bad as some make out.

it's a personal thing really, if it's your first time try and see everything, after all you pay for it and it's part of being there, i have been lucky enough to go a few times and must say terminator is looking old and some of the effects dont work now, bike was'nt working last time, twister is also getting a bit old but stilkl worth a go, we love the horror make up show, really funny even after seeing about 20 times, they have differant people doing it so always a new spin on it, sit in the front row ;0)

Terminator got a bit of a small upgrade recently, so it's a bit better. But there is no other show like it with the mix of live actors, animatronic terminator bots, & still fairly good 3D, plus the finale "engulfing rush" is still pretty impressive.

I haven't been to US so I can't answer your question but I am planning a trip there and I don't plan to skip anything. If Disney has taught me anything, there are attractions that I love that get a bad rep. So, I'm going to try it all (except for the ones that are sure to make me sick).

I went in 2012 with my boyfriend it was his first time going to US(or a big themepark for all that matters)
His opinion after the trip was that if he were to take people there the order of important shows to see was 1.Horror makeup show 2.Terminator 3.Beetlejuice
I agree, we love thrill rides but tried everything we where allowed to ride, seriously considered to borrow a child to try pteranodon flyers :lmao:

But we loved ET, we rode it 2 times in a row :goodvibes

Personally I actually enjoyed the Beetlejuice show. It was corny but the music was good and I am a Beetlejuice fan. We saw it last year when we were there.

I agree with the Terminator show. It seemed too long and I was underwhelmed.

Twister was okay. I would at least see it once.

Like others have said if you have never been there then try everything once. There is a lot of awesome experiences at Universal!

My faves and must dos are: Everything in the Harry Potter area, Spiderman, Transformers, Horror Make Up Show, The Hulk Coaster, Dr Doom, Jurassic Park Ride and The Mummy!

I found Poseidon's Fury to be most disappointing. It was kind of slow. A lot of standing as another poster mentioned. And it's an odd setup. Even with raised platforms to stand on it was difficult to get a good view unless you're directly in front.

Interesting thread! Everything is relative. I noticed my favorite attraction at US is one person's least fav. Lol! I'd suggest trying everything at least once.

If I did that, I'd have nothing to ride!! LOL. Turns out, the simulator rides make me sick as a dog (which I didn't know, since Star Tours doesn't...??). But now I take a "less drowsy" Dramamine and ride them all! Hope you can find something that will let you give everything a try :)

My family is not fond of water rides that are drenching. Ripsaw falls and Popeyes barges have no appeal. I guess we can't stand walking around after getting soaked.

I think everything at Universal is worth the 1st ride. There are a few that I choose to skip now as the return value is not there for me..

Disaster!, Twister, DR. Doom's Freefall, Storm Force, Horror make up show.

I do visit again when I am playing tour guide for a first timer and do enjoy them!

I have to throw in my love for the queue at ET. The ride is worth it just for the queue. I love the pine smell! I do think it gets a tad corny when they reach ETs planet though...
