Any Aussie's have AP's for DisneyWorld?

Hi there,
Anyone have an AP for DisneyWorld? We are heading off in January, myself and an two adult kids. Just crunching the numbers and trying to work out if it's worth an AP. We will have 10 days at least in the world, although only plan on staying on site for about 6 as we have friends who live locally and want to share our time.
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has used one or has one and if you though it worth it for your stay.

I have had one, it's expired but I will be getting one again in November. Actually we had the top one, which was for both Disneyland and Disney World. We have also had Disneyland AP's a few times. This time, we are just getting the Disney World (not the combo).

For us, last trip, it was 100% worth it. We were there for 3 weeks though, staying onsite. So the AP discount on accommodation actually paid in full for one of the AP's. We also got the Tables in Wonderland card and paid for our dining OOP. We eat mainly at TS restaurants, so the 20% discount on food 3 meals a day, again saved us hundreds of $'s. Then there was the merchandise discounts and the party discounts (it basically pays for the tip).

So for us, it was 100% worth it. The discounts more than paid for our two AP's. But.... staying for only 6 nights onsite, you then have to buy the TIW card for the meal discount. I don't know that it would be worth it? But really, you need to do the maths, do a little chart in excel maybe as it would be different for everyone. Have a look at the places you intend to dine and what you may eat to get an idea of what you will save in food. If there are any tours or parties you intend to do, look at what you will save there and if you are a big merchandise buyer, then get a rough idea on what you would save there.

We had one a few years ago too.
I am also currently looking at if we should buy one for our trip in 2018.
One thing to consider is that the AP also includes Memory Maker. We always get that, so it would be included.

Yes we alway get Memory Maker (or PPP) at Disneyland and thats A huge saving at the world

To get the meal discounts, you buy a card called "Tables In Wonderland" aka TIW. It's about $150 and get's you 20% off meals. I am not sure what the dining discounts are without the card as we have always had the card with our AP's. http://tablesinwonderland.com

Maybe depends on how many of you in the group. I would look at one of you getting an AP.

With an AP you could buy the TIW card for $150 which will cover a group of up to 10 as long as the check is paid in one payment. TIW will give you 20% discount on most TS dining.

AP will give you up to 20% discount on merchandise.

AP give you Photopass and Memory Maker.

For the days you are offsite theme park parking is free.

Personally with the extra costs to make it worthwhile I would buy the normal 10 day ticket, and decide if you need the park hopper.

WDW still has 10 day tickets, it's the max you can buy.

Hi Guys and Gals. Just jumping in to find out about this magical combined Disneyland/Disneyworld annual pass I keep hearing about. I can't see it as an option on Disneyworlds website and it's definitely something I'd like to consider costing seeing as though we're considering 2 weeks in Disneyworld, 1 Week at Universal Orlando and 5-7 nights at Disneyland on our next trip in 2019. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's called the Disney Premier Pass and is the top tier annual pass for both DLR and WDW. You cannot buy it online, only in person at Disneyland or Disney World. You can purchase the WDW AP and then upgrade when you get to WDW or wait until you get to DLR. It's $1,439 plus tax

Usually the break even point for an AP is 10-12 days, depending on discounts. I'm not sure it would be worth it for 6 days, as you would still need to purchase the TiW card for discounts on meals (unlike DLR where AP's get discounts on food without an additional pass)

I have had the Premier pass. I had a Disneyland pass to start and then went to WDW and upgraded it to the Premier pass. Was worth it for us as we did 2 weeks at DL and 3 weeks at WDW. Got AP discounts on accommodation for the 3 weeks, dined OOP so saved a lot on food.

we had it for our last DW trip but as we were there for nearly 3 weeks it worked out cheaper. You would need to crunch the numbers to make sure its worth it. We also bought the TIW card for meals but found that with 4 fussy kids it wasnt worth it, as we didnt end up eating in restaurants that often, it ended up being quick service most the time. Also we are DVC members so get discounts as well. For us it was forth getting the AP just for entry. I am not positive but I think we got it when DVC had a special on for AP.

It is definitely a numbers crunching game, and each individual situation is different. We tend to get an AP as we are there for 3 weeks+ We are DVC, so sometime opt for the Gold AP when not travelling during black out dates, and get an additional water park annual pass. Other times, we get the next one up, and try to be clever with our annual holiday plans so that the AP starts our holiday in the first year, and ends our second year holiday, so we effectively get two years out of one pass (e.g., go October one year, September the following year). We also get TIW as prefer TS and resort locations for food. But again, we try to be smart with purchasing, as DVC and AP offer various dining discounts too although usually less than TIW.

Totally recommend crunching the numbers in something like excel. In 2013 I got myself a Premier Pass for DL and WDW so that we could take advantage of Tables in Wonderland (I especially wanted to do Victoria & Albert's when they were still part of the scheme) but in 2015, despite spending another almost three weeks across both properties, I didn't bother. I literally looked at the places we were eating and the things we were doing and guesstimated how much we'd spend, took off the discount, and then worked out if that amount was more than the cost of the pass less what I would pay for regular tickets.
