Hello, we are leaving in only 1 week! I had originally planned on staying back at POP but had to switch in order to use my pin code. We switched to AS sports. I was wondering if anyone had stayed there and what you thought. Any last minutes tips would be helpful. The CM I spoke with last mentioned the football themed building and I thought since my husband was a football coach and both DS's play they would like it. Should I expect about the same as POP?

Never been to POP. However, 2 years ago we stayed at AS Sports. We absolutely loved it. We went in July and though it was busy, the pools did not seem full and the food court was not that busy. I've seen other posts about how it was noisy, etc., but we never experienced anything but "magic"!
Have lots of fun!

Stayed there in 2002. Loved it! we were also in the football building and we found it was pretty close to pool, foodcourt and bus stop.

We also loved being the first ones on and off the bus of the As resorts bus route. That is quite an advantage...guaranteed seating.

Staying at ASMu this July, I love the ASresorts, they've become like a second home to me...

We'll be there in 3 weeks. It will be my first stay at a Value and the family's first stay on site, so we are thrilled. We requested the football building as well because DS6 loves it. (He was really hoping for a soccer theme building though) I've heard some really great reviews about the food court, theming and general enjoyment for the price. We can't wait!!

We stayed there last year (early June). We requested the Football bldg, but got the Baseball bldg instead. At first I was disappointed (lasted about 5 min). Our room was on the bottom floor, at the end of the row, right next to the parking lot. Outside our door was a small garden type spot (grass, trees, bushes, flowers, and a bunny rabbit). It was very quiet and peaceful. DSs loved looking out the window at the bunny. We loved our Sports Resort. The pool was never crowded and the food court is large enough to accomodate crowds without seeming overly crowded. Also I had the feeling of a "One Big Happy Family" type place. It was wonderful.

If we ever stay at a Value again we will only stay at Sports.

p.s. The "X"s and "O"s are fun to play on.

I don't know your dates...but...the national AAU basketball championship is being held at Wide World of Sports from June 26-July 4. My daughter's Swoosh team didn't make it, but the Swoosh 10 and under did.....and they're staying at at the All Star Sports. I don't know if all the teams in the tournie are staying there or not. If so, that's going to be a lot of kids, boys and girls.

We've stayed I think three times at Sports.

Our first trip in 1999 we were in the tennis building. Yes, that is way out in nowhere land, but it was quiet.

2nd trip 2000, we asked for football section. We were down the hall from the red helmet.

3rd trip, 2001. We got two different rooms here since it was a adults only trip. We started out in basketball with a pretty view of a stream, woods and such. But it was a two bed room, and since it was our anniversary, we asked for a king bed. We wound up getting a king bed near the surfs up area.

We stayed in the Surf's Up section for our 2001 stay. We loved this resort. We stayed at POR in 2003 and loved that also. We are planning another trip this year and will head back to ASSp. unless there is a great code that comes out. Have fun on your trip. ::MinnieMo

We stayed at All Star Sports a few years back and had a great time-the resort was fun and we had no problems. We also stayed in Football which was convenient to the pool and food court and buses without paying extra.

Thanks so much for all of the positive reports!! That sure makes me feel better! :flower: Lucky for us, we are going to be there on June 12-17 so we will hopefully beat the AAU crowd. I am really looking forward to a wonderful trip. Thanks again for all of the advice. Keep it coming!! :earsboy:

We stayed at ASSP last summer and really enjoyed it. If you have sports fans in the family, which it sounds like you do, it should be a big hit.

And I should add we have stayed in all levels of resorts and ASSP was the only one we have gotten towel animals in (other than face cloth toothbrush holders at the Poly).

We also were there in July '03, and returned in July '04, and are returning again in Sep. '05. We are a family that spends ALL of our time in the parks, so the size or amenities in the room really don't matter a lot to us. We're there in the morning getting ready, and there at night to sleep, and that's about it, unless we're in the pool! You might read a lot of complaints about noise, but we just didn't notice it; we slept fine, and so did our kids, for that matter. It did seem to be pretty crowded overall, but like the above says, the pools weren't overflowing and the food court was manageable. And it's really nice to be the first All-Star resort picked up in the morning, and the first dropped off at night, as well. We stayed in the preferred rooms (close to the main pool, food court and bus stop), and suggest that for you. It cuts down a lot of walking, and the noise trade-off, at least for us, wasn't even noticeable.

We love it, and would recommend it to anyone. Why pay $250+ for the Poly, when we won't even be in the room hardly?

Stayed at AS sports last month and thought it was fine and I would definitly stay in the football Building I Stayed at the Hoops Hotel and found it to be a little far from the Food court and bus transportation but If you had and were using a car hoops hotel is an excelent location right near the Entrence to the All star resort area .
