Any areas allowed for "wading"

I know this is semantics but I thought that there were no beach areas of fresh water that allow for wading at WDW. Swimming and wading are I guess two different things. Just trying to clear this up for my non Disney friends who swear there are areas for wading. Maybe I'm wrong and there are bodies of water at WDW that have a beach where you can play in the water. Haven't seen any in over a dozen years of multiple trips so maybe I've missed it.
(And I'm not trying to place blame on those poor parents. My heart is absolutely devastated for them as a mother of 4. Just truly a question)

Though I suppose BC/YC has sand. Though it's not fresh water with chlorine in it.

If you are a guest at the Yacht or Beach Club, you can "wade" into the manmade beach of Stormalong Bay, (which is the pool area for the resorts). The actual nearby beach is marked as "No Swimming".

Thanks. We love BCV and enjoy the sand there at SAB. Just confirming with other experts since I had to argue a point this morning with friends.

That water is brown and gross looking (I'm really at a loss for a better word!). I can't imagine wanting to wade in it when you take the time to really look closely. It is stagnant, a breeding ground for amoebas (that are deadly if inhaled into the sinuses/brain) and mosquitoes. At it's worst it is a breeding ground for venomous snakes and larger than 3-4 foot alligators. No do not go wading into any fresh water at Disney.

Stick to the pools and splash pads.

If they don't want people to wade, why doesn't the sign say that? According to these threads, lots play in that (gross) water.

How many other words do they need? For you, "no wading" would do it". But what if a kid didn't want to wade, but splash? OK, now we have "no swimming, no wading, no splashing". What about "rinsing off hands"? OK, add that. Oh, "rinsing off feet" after a long day? Sounds nice and refreshing. Add that. Soon enough we have a sign longer than ANYONE is ever going to read, and the whole thing is useless.

I've always gotten the concept that "no swimming" means "we have good reasons to not want you in our water, so stay out". I mean, "we don't swim in your toilet please don't pee in our pool" doesn't specify "don't go #2", but most of us get that we aren't supposed to do THAT, either.

Have no fear, the signs are coming.
Just like hot coffee is hot and hey don't use your hairdryer in the bathtub. Florida is mostly swampland, wildlife is wild and sometimes dangerous. Sometimes even deadly.

So many people have no idea that there is dangerous wildlife in the water, maybe Disney should allow some sense of reality into the fakeness, to protect people, instead of just removing the gators when they reach a certain size. Are there any signs regarding gators?

"Swimming" is also probably the kind of word many with limited English would understand. I know the word for swimming in a few languages, but only know "wading" in English. Sometimes simplicity is key in international venues...

I can honestly say with zero sense of sarcasm or snark that today is the first day it ever became known to me that people DIDN'T know that alligators are literally everywhere in central Florida.

The "no swimming" signs are clearly vague to some people. WDW needs to provide better signage stating no walking in the lake, no touching lake water, no getting near the lake water; and add detailed pictures of an alligator with its mouth open and large teeth exposed. Perhaps maybe then guests will get the message to "stay out of the damn lakes." :(

I always thought the no swimming was because of the issue of the amoebas that are found in warm fresh water. I assumed wading was safe. The other near by resorts with the picture of the alligator under the no swimming make the message much clearer.
